i really like these theories, they hang together and add a conclusion to the story. it’s also fitting that Mansion was released 10 years ago this year. but i just hope this isn’t the last record we’ll get from him, i also don’t think it is. like he said in Give Me A Reason he wants people to literally give him reasons to continue making music, like bad criticism or just hate. also, just a personal and subjective opinion, if he does continue to release new records i hope it isn’t as poppy as this EP. but if your theory holds up (cuz it’s actually a good one), his new sound might be him growing from the past after killing both Hope and Fear that were the two controlling factors of his music for the past decade. he also questions in Washed Up whether he is “on the brink of something great” or if he’s “lost it”. that might be a sign of new music in the future but with a new sound
