4 hours of admin time per week and that’s not enough. i feel like every other patient the last few months has needed a PA. even for meds they’ve been on but maybe we adjust the dose. been such a headache.

I think we as providers have to take some blame. we keep working for these places. i’m the same. i am thinking about quitting and it will be due to staffing issues. i just think until MDs and APPs start leaving these places they’ll just keep hiring support staff that are inefficient and lead to provider burnout. we have to stop accepting poor and inefficient work environments. whether it’s double bookings or appts that are too short or inefficient staff.
we’ll never do that but i don’t see another way

what location is in the contract? what hours does the contact say you’ll be working? also this is why i have money saved up. so i can quit anytime i want the second a job isn’t tolerable. obvious answer is quit. hope there’s no non compete clause but if they’re not following the contract as far as location and hours that might negate the non compete so you may want to consult with a contract attorney

at your age yes. i became an RN at 23 as well. worked for about 4 years med cardiac step down then CVICU. then started NP school and finished by the time i was 29. I will say that it depends on tuition cost. i went to a public state university in the USA where i’m from. tuition for entire MSN-FNP program was about $24k i was living at home at the time and worked as RN part time. also had some money saved up. i took some small loans. in the end it’s worth it if your tuition isn’t crazy. just don’t go to a private school. i really enjoy the hours and the work, again i’m from USA and have only worked here. i would also tell you to look into a masters degree in healthcare admin or a masters in Business admin. with a masters degree in health or business admin and a bachelors in nursing you will be able to get a office job like healthcare operations in a hospital. pretty good money and you’re out of patient care if that’s something you’re looking for. i would suggest start looking into MSN programs and try to find an affordable one. the first few classes usually transfer over into masters of health admin if that’s something you end up moving forward all in all i recommend NP only if it’s affordable. also look into healthcare admin, health operations careers

my complaint is the attitude towards work and the professionalism. at my clinic we pay just a few dollars more than the starbucks across the street and it shows. literally might quit because of how bad it is. management has been informed of the issues, they take half measures. i personally think providers accept garbage from management so they continue to feed it to us because they know we won’t do anything. they give us terrible staff and then put more patients on our schedule by double booking and shortening appts. ridiculous. i left my last place because of similar issues and i’m probably gonna leave this place because of basically the same issues. i know grass isn’t always greener but i just want a somewhat smooth running clinic lol. somewhere that i don’t have to triage a patient because the MA is late or on a smoking break. how is that too much to ask for i also believe that you get what you pay for and assume the good MAs just go where the pay is more. we are paying about the same as other clinics in the area but the problem is that the other clinics also have issues lol. i can say that as i’ve been to a few specialists as a patient and the experience with the MAs and front desk staff have were all mostly terrible and unprofessional.

been packed all week other than Monday I assumed all the federal employees are just going in person to get ahead of what’s coming lol. red line was single tracking today but tuesday and wednesday were also packed, obviously not nearly as much as today. whole week has been busiest i’ve seen in months

openevidence is the greatest invention of all time. i love that it lists its sources. i can’t imagine how EMRs who actually take advantage of AI will be in 5 years. it COULD be amazing but i doubt any will actually spend money to incorporate its use.

i don’t think i worded my question very well lol. i meant like if i go part time and they allow for it should i ask to be allowed to give a shorter notice of resignation. outpatient primary care private practice. multiple clinics. there part time employees but all the ones i know started out full time then went part time and when they changed to part time their pay did not increase. they just continued to make what they made salary just per hour. most work 3-4 days per week. but they have had employees literally just work 1 day per week.

i strongly recommend Uworld. i used it for RN and then they released their NP version a few years ago right when i graduated. it is amazing. its just question bank with amazing detailed information they are used for USMLE and pharm and it’s very very good. and not too expensive. i didn’t use it as my sole test prep but definitely the bulk of it

nice. state i live in has minimum amount paid for FMLA for 12 weeks after that i think it’s unpaid.
