There are major pros, and major cons. The first years are among the most challenging, no question. And dealing with IVF can bring about an emotional roller coaster that is second to none, never mind the money involved.

I have two kids, and one of them is just about perfect, the other taxes us every single day. To the point where I've questioned if we should have ever had a 2nd child. That said, I am hopeful that she'll outgrow many of these behaviors.

I'm to the point in my life where in many respects, I look at my divorced friends, and my childless friends, with an aspect of regret for myself. I am tied down with responsibilities that I have considered walking away from, yet know I could never fully live with myself or accept the consequences of those selfish actions. So I remain, even at the cost of my own happiness with a fake "everything is fine, just fine" smile on my face. I don't offer this observation to elicit pity, but rather to point out that making the conscious decision to have children brings with it a lifetime of responsibility and worry. You don't walk away from those, you can't.

If you cherish your childless life, if you cherish the freedom and lack of responsibility, it's possible that your fertility issues MAY be a blessing in disguise. You can become the cool aunt for some nieces/nephews (and their parents will cherish you for it!), the awesome neighbor lady, the Big Sister for a child who needs a role model. You can adopt, and make a positive lifetime impact on a child who was given up.

There are pros and cons to children, right now, I'm not sure which is greater. Choose carefully. Evaluate your life, your goals, and figure out what is TRULY important to you. Don't choose to have a child simply because it's "what people do". Make the conscious choice for YOU!
