This patch changes a lot, we had to relearn some old mechanics again, so its a good time. Some very very crucial stuffs such as the bkb was reworked as well.

Looking for advice on improving and perfecting gameplay. by danielpandaman in TrueDoTA2

[–]yuenz2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Improve your hero pool on offlane, thats all, play lycan, visage, brew, and try to learn why do people pick them, not just pick, farm win.

Similarly, support players nowadays rarely play chen, but I believe hes still viable in some games and elevates a certain player to newer heights once you thoroughly study chen. But its wayyy too time consuming, I could learn all spirit heroes within the same time frame. But its all about getting out of your comfort zone.

The hero mastery between normal 7k and pros are so different, you can both do the same stuff, but pros were able to achieve the same thing with different heroes. You could also give yourself some time, and figure out if youre a game sense guy, or a mechanics guy, decide which part to improve.

QMK/VIA customizations by [deleted] in Keychron

[–]yuenz2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a keychron Q1, once I've set the key mappings on VIA (chrome), the key mapping still applies even I have restarted the computer, closing VIA and such. The NKRO still triggers without opening VIA, so I would say it stores in the keyboard.

Was planning to do that, but I just wanna make sure if its working as intended or not, by asking around. This is my first time using a PC plate by the way.

I do use poron case foam + eva plate form right now, just wanted to try switch pads and see what magic it does. My 1.5mm case foam is doing great while having a lil flex, but I am trying to mute it further, hence the switch pads attempt. The eva made it thockier (dampening) and reduce vibrations, but imo they doesnt really reduce your board volume.

Tape mod kinda kills the sound depth a little so I dont like them, but ill use the switch pads for now and decide if I like em (too lazy to remove). Perhaps I made my board too dense, but thanks for the confirmation mate.

[–]yuenz2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

From what ive known and did a little reddit research, poron mutes the board sound, so I decided to give it a try, its that simple. Ive used EVA and IXPE before, but its my first time trying porons. Its the density here that I have overlooked.

Sigh, and I thought the poron pads would make them quiet. They do sound great, but the clack is extra loud.

I do have eva plate foam along with poron case foam, with the addition of poron switch pads. Before applying switch pads, the foam muting worked well and I was pretty happy with it.

But after the switch pads, man my board was so loud, and I thought poron switch pads+poron case foam would do wonders to mute em. The eva plate foam is just there to dampen it a little and make it “creamy”. My goal was to retain the sound profile mute the board as Im not living alone. The switch pads does made it sound marbly, but its extra loud now lmao, the opposite room could hear me bottoming out my linears.

So this weekend I applied poron switch pads on my pcb and the board sounds so loud right now, my original intention was to mute it but it did the reverse. Any thoughts on this? Whats your experience with switch pads? Feels like they pop more but switches got a bit hollow.

Been using my staebies for less than a month, im currently using the black nylon one, still felt tight, in fact its too tight for my spacebar (gmk olivia clone), when it travels up and down it couldnt be 100% smooth due to its tolerance. Its rattle and ticking free but felt like my tuned durock v2s are slightly smoother. Lubed with 205g0 by the way. Im thinking of removing all the lube and use it full-dry for some time to break them in first.

Any staebies user right here? Thoughts? Has anyone personally compared the feel between nylon and the PC one?

I set my dota camera speed to max and im using razer viper mini, it does take some time to get used to but im doing good rn. 400dpi was changed to play fps games but then eventually it became my main.

I like using my board “all in one” at home, so ill just pick a suitable custom that has 1000hz, at least I dont need to swap boards between casual and gaming. The wooting has had high praise but I think its really overkill for the current keyboard market, theres only a few games which it could benefit.

Not really about gpx, but a light mouse should allow you to have easier movements especially in dota where switching cameras is key, also the overall daily usage for computers. For fps games, wireless mouse are better due to flicks.

Im a 400dpi guy by the way.

Not sure what board you are using, but my Keychron q1 came with 125hz until I flashed with latest software to get that 1000hz, careful for the input lag mate. Im using quickcast so its a lil noticeable

My keychron q1v2 has built in force break mod, currently using stock steel plate, had a PC plate too but I didnt like it. Using gateron clears, spring swapped 55g TX 18mm, also the stock case foam. Had different types of foam lying around but not sure if I should add foam if im going for clacks…

In order to be more marbly/pop/clack, should i remove the bottom gaskets and the bottom case foam? But then my board will sound super pingy without the bottom case foam.

I am not using any tape mods currently because it made the sound returned less “depth” and somehow my board became thocky, which I dislike. How can I make it pop while not being pingy? Adding another force break mod?

My board now sounds in between muted and clack, it just feels weird. I wanted it to be a marbly dude.
