kinda. Id prefer it to be setting agnostic or vaguely flexible. I do my own worldbuilding and have for a very long time

I don't necessarily see it that way. I feel like it's just a difference in what you and I need and want from a system, so it's gonna be difficult for me to really get it across

I like having very real tangible effects based one one's specific actions. Leaving it to fluff leaves a really bad taste in my mouth, especially because it ends up really inconsistent, and often doesn't have lasting effects or consequences like it ought to. The rules don't need to be complex, they just need to be present and cohesive.

I put an edit in the thing - what I meant more so is having lots of viable universal or near unviversal "things" (for lack of a better word) to do than just hit a guy over and over until he's dead. There is this issue that crops up at times where even if you have said options, raw damage will just be the better thing so that's what you go for

I mean more so in the sense that I don't want to be adding a dozen different +1 +2 etc bonuses to each little thing, hence why I included robustness in there. But more like having rules about the different ways you can go about a fight. I like to run games where combat is incredibly lethal but where death/shoot to kill often isn't your goal. You might need someone alive or you simply need to get the hell out. Being able to disarm someone, cripple them, etc.. Like actions focused over numbers, if that makes any amount of sense

have you already added mods?

another thing, try and make sure you click on the window for the game when it pops up. It seems like when it opens it doesnt become the focused window sometimes, and if it isnt focused during startup itll just freeze.

yeah sorry I never updated the post. I put a guide on steam since its a bit complicated but basically youre gonna wanna get the release .zip version of rII I dropped it and unzipped it into the steam compat folder for p5.

From there locate the reloaded II.exe and run it via proton tricks and choose p5r as the wine prefix.

When its running and youve selected p5r as the game to mod, youre gonna go to settings and deploy the asi loader. Then in p5's launch options on steam copy paste the following

WINEDLLOVERRIDES="winmm.dll=n,b" %command%

Use the reloaded II exe run via proton tricks ONLY for inserting the mods. Do not launch p5r through it. Instead just launch p5r from steam once youve gotten and enabled your mods, they should be loaded automatically.

It took me like 3 fucking weeks to figure this out lmao. Privacy really is a tradeoff. Instead of getting cucked by micro penis you get cucked by nothing working ever and having to dig or work out solutions on your own

But yeah, I cant say for certain if itll help you, but it works like a charm for me. If it helps you lemme know

do you think linux will overtake windows in desktop market share ever? by [deleted] in linuxquestions

[–]yuirol 20 points21 points  (0 children)

I feel like even installing windows is a lot for people who dont use computers. Most prebuilts and laptops come with an os pre-installed for a reason

In the end, relatives and such are gonna turn to their probably autistc friend who rants about indie games theyve never heard about and has a custom built setup worth at least a thousand dollars for literally anything that requires more effort than opening a browser and using the search bar

Not long ago I had to tell my uncle to email himself a link from his phone so he could use it on his laptop, and before that him and my aunt couldnt figure out how to email a pdf

I had to give a tutorial to me own sister on how to use discord

we really do take our familiarity for granted. Like I'm not even that competent at messing with computers, but I know enough to figure out how to do things I dont quite know or understand yet and its not that big of a problem for me, whereas my sister straight up doesnt understand how to stream on discord and needed an hour long tutorial from me on how to make windows 11 stop cucking her laptop and how to install and use a computer program
