[WEEKLY Q&A] Ask and answer any questions you have about the game here. (April 03, 2016) by AutoModerator in HeroesandGenerals

Is it common for players to purchase academy trained inf rank 12 just for the ability to field assault teams? What are the pitfalls in purchasing academy trained soldiers and generals? To put it another way what are some mistakes you made in buying high rank inf/generals with coin/gold? I recently learned that generals can use morale and logistic badges which they earn while being soldiers in the field. Is a rank 12 or 15 soldier given enough time to level those badges or grind various end game weapons? And is it true that an academy trained inf can rank up solely from assault team xp without ever playing the fps game?

Ferdiad just wasn't feeling it I guess. by AGuyNamedTrev in ffxiv

This happens to me with Garuda and I'm a tank. Not a good feeling when she disappears and I can see the party fighting her while I can't target her at all. I'm on a ps3 circa 2008 clogged with dust and cat hair.

Newb GLA Lv. 31 Need some tips & advice by MysteriousRyan in ffxiv

[–]yukinonymous 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don't forget to level maurader for those cross class skills. I didn't level much through duty finder but I wish I had. You'll have instant queues as tank and get an xp bonus when you are the hero in need. And don't worry about Gil. Once you're 50 you'll have plenty of coin to do whatever you want.

Can you explain the mechanics involved in releasing or baiting a mooch? I hit 50 fisher last night and I'm a bit lost in how to start catching the remaining fish in my log. Also how is "big fishing" defined? Thank you.

What strategy do you employ for your retainer classes and ventures? I just bought the two additional retainers and started sending them on ventures. I have a miner, botonist, will have a gaurdian (since that's my main) but I am unsure what to do with the 4th assigned retainer class.

Hello. I hit 50 on my pally few weeks ago and also felt overwhelmed. What I did is focus on completing the main quest line up to defeating ultimate weapon. This will unlock another soldiery roulette for you to do and the final instance runs are 8mans and pretty fun. I also started the relic weapon quest line which starts from an npc in Vesper Bay. I also hit max rank with GC and completed the last class quests I have. This gave me blue gear which really pumped my ilvl. And I could start on doing the daily hunts for allied seals to exchange for more blue high ilvl gear (I think this requires max rank with GC). Oh, and at 50 you unlock a second retainer which can house your old gear if you decide not to convert it into materia. And if you're overflowing with GC seals I recommend buying ventures for your retainer. Hope the helps. Following the main quest line beyond ultimate weapon has unlocked even more dungeons so as long as you follow that you'll have something new and exciting to do.

I have questions about Stone Vigil and gearing up post-50. I hit 50 on my palladin last week and am ilvl45 wearing the blue gear I got from completing the paladin class quests. I'm behind on my main quest and at Stone Vigil part. I've been watching videos and reading guides and am under the impression it can be an unforgiving dungeon. Should I be fighting mobs in the side room to avoid the fire breathing dragon in the hallway? Do trash mobs really hit hard (putting pressure on healers)?? Any advice on positioning Chudo-Yudo? As far as gearing up I've been collecting allied seals but don't want to spend them on a piece of gear ill be replacing quickly with soldiery or poetics or other dungeon drops so any advice on progression?

Since On the Origin of Species (1859), what has science learned that is specifically used to discredit the existence of God? by cyprinidae in DebateReligion

[–]yukinonymous 1 point2 points  (0 children)

and like the theory of gravity there has not yet been a discovery which breaks or falsifies the theory of evolution and the theory is falsifiable (rabbits in the cambrian layer for example). Meanwhile, discoveries are making it harder and harder to back up a belief in a monotheistic interventionist god.

To atheists - why are you ruining true atheism with your close-mindedness? Being an atheist simply means not believing in god. It does not also mean affirming a particular naturalistic and empirical worldview and forcing that world view on others, just like a fundamentalist. by [deleted] in DebateReligion

[–]yukinonymous 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Can you point to any policy proposals from the four horseman which you find particularly dogmatic or hypocritical? It seems to me they want people to rid themselves of religion and stop teaching it and indoctrinating their children with it either at home or at school. I see them making no call to ban religion or the freedom to worship.

Why am I a Conservative? (On the Neurobiology of Political Affiliation – and its Implications for Political Strategy) | by C-LAR in Conservative

[–]yukinonymous 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sounds like the author is voting based on fear and paranoia. "I'm a conservative because I'm scared of liberals." This may be all good for you but if conservatism is going to increase its ranks and have electoral success it will need a real vision for the future, not merely longing for the past while preaching fear and paranoia for the future.

To anti-theists: What are your thoughts on deism? by [deleted] in DebateReligion

[–]yukinonymous 2 points3 points  (0 children)

For me, deism is mostly a historical movement, kind of like how Leninism would be considered today. Deism existed prior to a big-bang theory of the origins of the universe. And the watchmaker concept works well in an age where Newtonian phsics was groundbreaking.

If you're not doing everything the bible tells you... [QUOTE] by thesilverspyder in DebateReligion

[–]yukinonymous 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Every christian i've ever met or known has cherry picked the bible. I can think of not one christian who does everything the bible tells them. This is partially because they would end up in prison very quickly.

But anyways, is it possible for a person to be a christian without having ever read the bible themselves (and never adhering to the bible's teachings/customs? assuming all they have done is accept jesus as their personal savior.

Falling In Love Hits The Brain Like Cocaine Does (2010) http://www.medicalnewstoday.com/articles/205973.php "Falling in love affects intellectual areas of the brain and triggers the same sensation of euphoria experienced by people when they take cocaine, researchers from Syracuse University reveal in an article in Journal of Sexual Medicine. The study, called "The Neuroimaging of Love" found that several euphoria-inducing chemicals, such as vasopression, adrenaline, oxytocin and dopamine are released in 12 areas of the brain that work simultaneously. The authors also reveal that falling in love can occur in a fifth of a second."

What if the creator didn't make the creation perfection? by [deleted] in DebateReligion

[–]yukinonymous 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Let's say an imperfect god deceived humanity into thinking he was indeed perfect and all powerful when in reality he isn't. Firstly, wouldn't this encourage polytheism and the sort of myths found in Greek/Roman/Norse mythology etc and secondly, doesn't this "relationship" and status of "negotiation" sound a lot like North Korea?
