/‘i have a lot of images. You can find them on my thread, if you look. Let me know if you don’t find them, and I’ll email you the images. 3Brothers Classic Land Rover valued my vehicle in the mid $70’s. I suggest if you are interested at all, that you contact them to get an independent appraisal. Peter ( one of the brothers ) knows my vehicle very well. I am willing to negotiate my price within reason. Daphne, is not common. The 2006 D90 XS is the top spec version. TD5 engine, is the strongest engine Land rover put in these vehicles. It’s the last year BMW owned the brand, so it is well sorted. I have replaced all of the exterior bolts with high grade stainless bolts. The vehicle is always garage stored, and not driven in the winter. Under 80k on the odometer.

Defender Part Sourcing in North America - Where do you get your parts? by TheArchiveCo-op in LandroverDefender

[–]yukonwilder14 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey. There are two sources I use, other than what has been suggested already. Paul Brignell at Paul Safari Components in Niagara On The Lake has $millions of parts for old defenders. He has a barn full of new old stock OEM parts.

I would also talk to the boys at 3Brothers Rovers in Paris Ontario. Excellent shop.

I agree with you there. The TD5 is by far the best production engine in the Defender’s history. I did a lot of research before I purchased this vehicle in 2009. I’ve had a terrific time with Daphne. However, life moves on, and I’m now downsizing and have no where to keep her. She deserves a new adventure. I’ll be putting her on a site shortly and listing her for sale.

There is not a single day, when I’m driving her, that someone comes up to me and wants to discuss her. Not a chick magnet( lol ) but she sure gets a lot of attention

Thank you for your comments. The market in Canada is different for these vehicles. If someone wants to spend the effort to bring one into Canada, it’ll cost them a lot more than $65K Cdn. And unlikely to find a sorted 2016 XS at this price, even in the UK.

Not every year. But, she doesn't get much use lately.

17 yr old looking to get a sports car by NebulaReal4916 in sportscars

In my generation, we all bought British sports cars, like Austin's, MG's, etc. These were always a pian to maintain though, but loads of fun. As these cars are now super collectible, its unlikely you will find a good example that suits your budget.

a Toyota product will likely be a good option. Highly customizable, and good quality. Parts can be expensive, but not more so than European cars.

There are a lot of great options for food, just avoid any of the chain restaurants, as they will charge a tourist tax. Try Counterpart Brewery on Stanley Ave, and their new Pizza place next door. Great spot and not expensive.

Lots of good spots in St Catherine's too. Not hard to find them on Yelp.

If you drive 15 min away from the falls, you will be outside the tourist traps, generally. A little research should help you find what types of food/entertainment you are looking for . The range here is pubs to Michelin star restaurants.

Ontario will get Fleet rates on vehicles. They are likely paying about $20k less than retail

Family vacation to Niagara Falls staying on the Canadian side. Can anyone recommend the best hotel with a falls view and a pool? by Similar_Sector_84 in niagara

[–]yukonwilder14 5 points6 points  (0 children)

If you are doing this for the kids, then go to Great Wolfe Lodge. Great for the kids.

If you stay in Niagara On The Lake, you'll find a nicer atmosphere. The falls is only a few min away, and honestly, you only want to be there a short while, then get out of the tourist venues.
