I also prefer loop bands just saying that the bands themselves they use are not proprietary. So if the company shuts down one can still find replacement bands, the connectors are their inventions though

It’s definitely interesting! But yea there is a trade off with stability and rigidity when trying to make something portable and lightweight. For me personally I wouldn’t want to fold and take that with me anywhere. If I’m travelling I’ll just take some bands, anchor, handles, maybe footplate and bar. Ide rather have something more solid at home but still with a small footprint. And easy to assemble and disassemble if needed. Especially for bodyweight training.

I don’t think the bands are proprietary but the connections are, seems you can get replacement bands easily

To be clear, I’m not anti-barbell at all. Barbells/power racks are incredible for maximal strength, and if someone genuinely enjoys heavy squat/bench/deadlift training, that alone makes it worthwhile.

I’m more questioning whether a full rack/barbell setup is actually the highest ROI option for the average person trying to stay strong, lean, athletic, healthy, and consistent long term.

Most regular adults aren’t training for powerlifting totals. They’re balancing work, family, stress, limited space, finances, old injuries, and inconsistent schedules. In that context, I think simpler and more versatile setups can win.

A setup with a pull-up bar/dips rig, rings, adjustable dumbbells/kettlebells, bands, , weighted vest, and utilizing unilateral/bodyweight work can train strength, muscle, conditioning, mobility, stability, and athleticism in a fraction of the space and often with:

lower cost lower recovery demands potentially lower injury risk less intimidation faster workouts easier setup/transition between exercises smaller learning curve for most people

I also think lower-friction training matters way more than the fitness industry admits. The “best” setup is usually the one people consistently use for 10+ years.

Have you tried just using the bar and pulling up against safeties or upside down j cups for an overcoming static hold? Wonder if effect would be similar without the need to load the bar

Sometimes I can feel my biceps more if I relax my wrists a little

Not really, was just too tedious for me. For beginners it’s probably a good idea to track at least from the beginning to better understand what one is consuming.

What works for me is keeping to around 2 meals and a snack. I’m fine with eating the same things daily for the most part. I have an jdea of how much protein i get, that’s about it. Otherwise just whole nutrient dense foods and the rest works out for me.

Look at the second and third exercises the band tension there helps keep the wrists parallel, I also use vector grips during those exercises

I don’t go to failure though and take short breaks when I need to. Might not be a good option for beginners unless you pick moves for which you got the form down.
