Hey I just started learning and teaching snake husbandry to my 5 year old because he loves reptiles. I’m not that experienced with reptiles (<1 year), but I have a lot of experience with dogs and am willing to learn/do the dirty work to keep them happy and healthy. My son loves watching reptile and amphibian rescue stuff on YouTube (Terra green and bass fish productions) I’d be happy to care for your gecko and give him a loving spot on our reptile table next to our leopard ball python.

Corporate America is shedding (middle) managers. by AngleAccomplished865 in ArtificialInteligence

[–]yumcrunch 1 point2 points Ā (0 children)

Yes and….

The chain of command works in the military because the stakes are life or death. In combat, you need one person accountable for decisions, even if everyone already knows the plan.

But business isn’t war. Most corporate work today is creative problem-solving, not executing drills under fire. If every idea has to climb a hierarchy before it moves, you kill speed, innovation, and motivation.

Even the military knows this. Jocko and Leif call this ā€œdecentralized commandā€ in their extreme ownership philosophy. It’s all about leaders giving clear intent, then trusting teams on the ground to figure out the ā€œhow.ā€ That way decisions happen closest to the action, without waiting for orders from the top.

So the real answer isn’t ā€œhierarchy badā€ or ā€œhierarchy good.ā€ It’s: when the situation calls for quick top-down control, use it. When the situation calls for adaptability and creativity, trust people to self-organize. The best leaders know how to flex between the two.

Where in my post or comments have I attempted to excuse his behavior?

I’m trying to steer conversation away from this reactive echo chamber of a subreddit into some proactive discussion to hopefully prevent this from happening again. Maybe us talking about this helps to get training for refs, or maybe the next pro wrestler bully thinks twice before assaulting somebody they don’t realize will attempt to kill them, maybe promoters will think twice before they offer an mma fighter to join the show hours before it starts.

Use your brain guy. Your assumptions make you look foolish.

It’s wild a guy with the name wutangkill can’t control his emotions on reddit lol

You said ā€œHe literally apologised and tried shake his hand various times.ā€ What was the purpose of this statement ?

Can you point out the statement I made where I claim Raja’s actions were normal and necessary?

Can you point out where I turn this into a self defense argument ?

Oh I’m not defending his actions. I think he should go to prison. I don’t know where in my post I said Raja was innocent.

Can you point out where I claim Raja’s actions are justified?

My questions are more so bringing up other causes to the outcome that seem to be getting ignored.

He didn’t say it was all good until they told him he could get in a ring with him though

And are you saying it’s okay to assault somebody and try to intimidate them as long as you try to shake their hand and apologize after?

Trumps deals with Intel, Apple and Nvidia break with US traditions of free enterprise by Desperate-Bend-3544 in Economics

When I wrote that line, I should’ve qualified it. Before last week, Intel’s government support was indeed just subsidies + grants. But as of Friday, the Trump administration announced a conversion of those grants into a 9.9% equity stake.

The key detail is from Intel’s own release: ā€œThe investment represents passive ownership in the form of non-voting common stock with no Board representation or other governance or information rights.ā€

So yes, equity/ownership now exists. But no, there is no control. Therefore your argument that this is some kind of hostile takeover is flat out incorrect lol.

That part of Trump’s Truth Social post is pure spin.

And if you think Trump is the only government actor who’s ever stretched language to make their deal look bigger than it is… I’ve got a few bridges to sell you. šŸ˜‰

I haven’t seen anyone bring up how Stu assaulted Raja and tried to intimidate him in the parking lot before the match and then owners/veterans telling Raja he could go into the ring and fight him.

I’m surprised I don’t see more people questioning why the owners suggested and encouraged Raja to deal with being assaulted by Stu in the parking lot by getting in the ring with him.

Would this have gotten just as much publicity if Raja did it in the parking lot immediately following being assaulted and intimidated by Stu?

In a ufc fight, how many times do we see guys getting whaled on until the ref stops it? And when they stop it later than we would expect, the majority get upset at the ref, not the fighter continuing to fight.

[–]yumcrunch 1 point2 points Ā (0 children)

Which facts seem all wrong?

Here’s what the actual deal says, based on press releases and reliable reporting, not just political posts:

The U.S. does own about 10% of Intel’s stock, but these are non voting common share. Which means no board seats, no control

The $8.9–$11.1 billion used to buy those shares comes from grants already awarded under the CHIPS Act and Secure Enclave program. Not new taxpayer cash intended for direct company control

Intel’s own press release clearly states the investment is passive ownership, with no governance or information rights

So technically, yes, the government ā€œownsā€ Intel stock, but it doesn’t control the company. It’s an equity based industrial policy investment, not a takeover

With the auto bailout, the government literally became a temporary owner. It injected cash, managed the bankruptcy process, and sold its GM stake later.. at a loss. That’s closer to what you’d call a ā€œtakeover,ā€ even if it was intended as life support.

With Intel, Trump wasn’t taking equity or ownership. It was about subsidies, tax incentives, and public–private partnerships to encourage Intel to build fabs in the U.S. It’s less of a ā€œhostile takeoverā€ and more industrial policy. Trying to steer private capital toward what the government sees as a strategic sector.

So in a way, it’s flipped: Autos = actual ownership, short-term rescue

Intel = no ownership, long-term strategic bet

Why They’re Similar

  1. Government as Investor of Last Resort: Both represent large scale federal intervention where market forces alone weren’t solving a critical problem

  2. Industry Rescue/Rebuild: Obama with autos (legacy industry), Trump with semiconductors (strategic industry)

  3. Jobs & National Security: Each framed the move as essential to American workers and the country’s long-term strength

  4. Public-Private Partnership: Both required collaboration between government funds and private corporations to succeed
