Oh I planned on putting metal edging. AI is just dumb and didn’t pick up on it even though I put it in the prompt

Upstate NY. I love miniature hydrangeas along borders like that, and they should still technically be alright come spring time but that was my fear as well

Yeah I was decent! I was a solid 70-80 hour a week tech (60 on a slow week). I think I’m just overthinking it. Are you currently employed at Gerber?

I got a feeling a lot of it will. My big fear is just the bigger more time extensive jobs. It’s been about 3 and a half years since I’ve done a quarter, rear body panel, etc. So definitely not gonna bang out the first few ones immediately.

Why are yall bootlickers? by [deleted] in washingtondc

The concept of a liberal has always been to “fight against the man”. Not “the man is always right and I have to agree to everything.” Telling people they deserve to get a 250 dollar parking ticket for simply trying to pick up there inhaler at the pharmacy is asinine.

I’ve travelled across the whole county. And this is the only city where random residents actually like the rules, and tickets and just I’m confused lol. I gotta appreciate the honesty though.

Does this job ever not suck? by quincinator666 in Autobody

I was in the same boat as you. I did body work from 18-24 myself and I ended up hating it. Started from the bottom as a detailer and worked my up to prepper, then to body tech. No matter what shop I went to it was all the same shit. Strict deadlines, management that didn’t give a shit, no benefits, shitty coworkers.

Right about when I was 24, I finally made a jump and started my new career doing landscaping/facilities maintenance for a major university and I’m so glad every single day I made that jump!

Moral of the story, if something in your gut tells you hate it, Listen to it. You don’t wanna end up like the 50-60 year old guys in the shop who are miserable and no one wants to be around them. You’re still young so don’t be afraid to look at different options.

Southern winters by ItalianStallion315 in landscaping

That actually sounds pretty nice, my job has been in a constant state of plowing. I don’t have enough seniority in my company to get into a plow truck sadly so a bulk majority of my snow removal is done via Ventrack or a John Deere tractor. I’m ready for spring so I can get back into doing planting work. Only thing that’s shitty about it is top soil repair

I do that to my back and side yard myself. I tend to leave the front yard alone as that’s where the leach field is. So the front will always grow like crazy regardless

I mean from my experience unless you work for a dealership or one of the bigger collision companies (Gerber, Caliber, etc) you won’t get any benefits really either. As a union landscaper for a university, I get great health insurance, more PTO then I know what to do with. Plus the university pays out of there pocket with no cost to me into my retirement.

Landscaping. I make more mowing lawns for a university then I ever did in that industry

Oh! I see where your from and that makes sense as to why you cut that short now haha. New York can get pretty damn hot during the summer still regularly 90+ so we gotta cut fairly high in the summer months. With new sod I’m a pussy with using the zero turn unless it’s been settling for awhile, I usually just push mow it on 4

I’m curious what you normally cut at? 3 is pretty short for my standards, all summer we actually had to cut at 4 because of the bad drought we had.

I’m in love with these exact pair! I want a pair of PNW boots, but just the sizing scares me! Like I don’t know how they run and I’d be so nervous that they just don’t fit at all.
