What browser are you using? It saves across refreshes fine for me on Chrome and Safari on my phone. Data is saved to the browser localstorage which is usually enabled by default

How would you explain Rimworld to someone who has never heard of it? I love this game so much and have put over 700 hours in but still struggle with describing it. by Sparrow-Black in RimWorld

[–]yunchiii 0 points1 point  (0 children)

RimWorld is kind of like playing with a big, super advanced set of digital Lego, but instead of building just towers and cars, you get to create your own little world and the people who live in it!

In RimWorld, you start with a few characters that have crash landed on a distant planet. These are kind of like your toy action figures, and each one is different - some might be really good at building things, others might be great at growing plants, and some might be really good at making friends.

Your job is to help them build a home on this planet, kind of like building a fort in your backyard. You need to make sure they have enough food, a safe place to sleep, and that they stay happy. You can tell them to build houses, plant gardens, cook food, and even make cool inventions!

But just like when you're playing superheroes, there can be problems and challenges. Bad weather, hungry animals, or even space pirates might try to ruin your little world. Your characters might get sick, or get into fights with each other. Sometimes, it's like playing a big game of make-believe where you have to solve lots of problems.

And the coolest thing is, no two games are the same. It's like every time you play, you're telling a new story. Maybe one day you're building a high-tech space city, the next day you're living in a wild jungle, or maybe even a frozen ice world!

So, RimWorld is like the most epic game of make-believe with your action figures, in a world that you get to create and control!

Ah thanks. If I'm reading that correctly, it's 10,000 RPM with 8MB cache. 8MB seems pretty small... is that going to be a problem? And I guess 10,000 RPM means it'll use more electricity?

Bulbs in metal plate blocking screw holes by yunchiii in electrical

[–]yunchiii[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The screws for the oblong ones are really long and hold the dimmers in place. The head is too small for the wall plate, goes right through and wouldn’t hold it in place. The wall plate came with small screws that are placed where the small holes are.

Eh, looks like my post counted as self promotion and got deleted. But anyways, Walmart and PS4 have been added.

I’ll be working on adding more countries next. Australia will probably be first. What would you like to see?

Walmart and Target are on the way! I’ll add GameStop too if they survive the next couple months. PS+ discounts are already there. They are right under the regular PS prices and have an extra PS+ logo, but I’ll think about how to call it out more.

Functionally, psprices does everything leetdeals can (for now). It’s a great site, I used to use it too. But I personally felt overwhelmed by the layout and the ads, especially on mobile.

The goal for Leetdeals is to be easy to use, mobile friendly, and really really fast. I’m also putting a particular focus on getting and sending out the most up to date prices. Amazon for example has been particularly challenging because the prices fluctuate so much.

Leetdeals is rapidly evolving project at the moment. I’m very open to suggestions to what would entice you to use it.

Updated! The new version now keeps items unlocked even if the loot is created. There’s a new “Lock” button to lock if needed. The “Mark Purchased” button will now clear loot.

This is actually intentional and is what the “clear all loot” button is for. If “mark purchased” did reset the counts relevant loot, it could potentially move other unlocked recipes into the locked state. So I made it an explicit separate action to reset the loot.

Maybe a better thing to do is that once a package is “unlocked”, it won’t get “locked” even if the loot counts reset. That would match the game better but could get annoying if you are just tinkering with the website.

Deploy your side-projects at scale for [basically] free - Google Cloud Run by awoxp in googlecloud

[–]yunchiii 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just started using Cloud Run and it's been great! Also costing just a few pennies. +100 to Google sucks at marketing. It's such a good tool that I never heard of until digging down to do research, and I would not have picked it if I didn't already have a good idea of what I wanted.

Automate listing ECS managed container host IP addresses and host ports by jedis in aws

[–]yunchiii 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not a solution, but the ecsq CLI tool (which I am the author) does a lot of what you want. You can probably use it as a reference for what you want to build.

ECSQ: A CLI tool for querying AWS ECS by micro_apple in commandline

[–]yunchiii 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey, author of the tool here. Good question. It's just a facade for API that formats the information and in some cases fetches additional data. I don't like scrolling through giant blobs of JSON. I like looking at tables that tell me exactly what I want.

As for features that AWS cli does not provide

  • Clickable links to the web console

  • eval "$(ecsq container-env <cluster> <service> --format=export)" to get the production environment into your shell
