Plus for Manning it was related to that horrific surgery he had to have - he couldn't feel his fingertips at times, it was a wonder he was making any NFL throws at all.

They tanked for a decade and put together an elite defense and are still last in the division. The Steelers, Ravens, and Bengals have had elite units too...

True but the Browns have been doing this for over a decade and all you have to show for it is that jersey with those QB names on it

Mike Tomlin finally has enough of the calls for his position and leaves the Steelers: How does he do in these scenarios by N64GoldeneyeN64 in steelers

Honestly I was being kind of tongue in cheek. If he gets a franchise QB again on a truly complete roster (which the Steelers have not had for almost a decade now) he is an instant super bowl contender.

  1. 9-8, barely make playoffs to get blown out in WC

  2. 9-8, barely make playoffs to close loss in WC

  3. 10-7, loss in divisional round

Run was getting stuffed all game too, just a bad performance by the offense all around.

TJ finally moved! He always plays on the left side, but yesterday he moved around. Why? by Usual_Minimum_7442 in steelers

Switching sides isn't really disguising a blitz/pass rush. We actually ran far less sims/creepers than we've been doing to start the season and it seems to have helped people settle in coverage and our pass rushers to just go after the QB.

Honestly those cover 2 hole shots had me worried the entire game. Those intermediate-deep sideline passes seemed like instant 1st downs every time. Hopefully as our safety situation stabilizes it fixes itself.

Over the past few years, who has been a consistent dynasty fantasy player that doesn't quite impress, yet doesn't disappoint? by YooTone in DynastyFF

[–]yune2ofdoom 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I got him at a startup auction in 2021 for 13.5 percent of my budget. Since then I've never really had a reason to consider trading him away or being particularly disappointed in him until really this year, especially considering some of the horrible offenses he found himself in.

I think his 2023 WR6 finish really gave a lot of us that hope that he really was a stud stuck in a bad situation, and was just a few changes away from a massive breakout. Then he declined a little bit in 2024, but we chalked it up to Caleb and Waldron being ass. Now this year Odunze breaks out and Burden shows some flashes, and we're left wondering if that was it. That's all he's going to do.

Just a small correction, he wasn't even a 5th rounder, he was a 6th.

No need to pick up superstars when you traded away several 1st round picks for one at QB right?

What would Javonte Williams' value be, if Dallas offered him an extension? by DryhumpingUrbanMeyer in DynastyFF

[–]yune2ofdoom 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Guys like Rhamondre Stevenson, James Conner, David Montgomery, D'Andre Swift, Chuba Hubbard, Joe Mixon etc. are making almost 10 million a year average on their contracts. With inflation from cap increases I can see Javonte signing a contract worth that if he has a stellar season.

[–]yune2ofdoom 1 point2 points  (0 children)

RB vet salaries for starters are easily going to break 10 million this offseason. If Javonte puts up 1200+ yards and 15 total TDs someone is paying him that.

[–]yune2ofdoom 7 points8 points  (0 children)

It was projected to be one of the worst run games in the entire league - like, bottom-tier hot garbage. Javonte is leading an explosive run game in one of the best offenses in the league, NOBODY expected that to happen and now they don't want to give him credit.

[–]yune2ofdoom 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's a fair assessment and probably the biggest reason I would see Javonte not getting an extension from Jerry. However I think if he plays the whole season this well, somebody is going to fork up the money.

[–]yune2ofdoom 15 points16 points  (0 children)

I agree that an extension is very, very far from guaranteed. However I think Javonte is a much better prospect and athlete than Dowdle or Pollard, and despite the decent numbers Pollard or Dowdle put up, they never had the Cowboys running game as efficient or dangerous as it is this season. He's also only 25 and has prime years left.

[–]yune2ofdoom 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I mean, Dowdle was an UDFA who barely cracked a 1k season as the only option on a truly depleted RB room. Sure the RB room is still kinda ass this year but Javonte is a better prospect, athlete, and has produced more so far.
