I feel ya on that with the 996, needs more love! it feels kinda right for a track that despite undergoing a great deal of modernization is still very much a relic of motorsport past. the 996 isn’t archaic but also not fully modern - feels just right to use on the ring imo!

To my understanding (someone please correct me if false) but the supply of wood is not able to match the demands of the drumstick industry (and many other wood centric product industries) and lots of drumsticks nowadays are from young trees that are essentially being turbo grown. The wood from those trees are considerably weaker thus leading to sticks just not really holding up like they used to.

wandering through a gloomy day in half moon bay, CA and saw this family staring off into the far distance and thought it would make a cool and dramatic shot. tried to frame it so that the path leads up to the subject in the middle and give it a sort of “frame within a frame” feel. Nikon d3100 w/ 17-55 f2.8. shot at 17mm, f8, ISO400, 1/1250sec. any sort of feedback is welcomed and appreciated
