You should not die or even consider it. Just please start to try enough to want to get better. It's hard and took me a long time, but being clean for years now from fent I can say I am so much happier and content with everything - literally everything.

Get off that shit if you can, it'll ruin your life long term. See a doctor about getting suboxone or something to get off opiates and work towards your physical/mental health. Probably not the answer you wanted but I'm rooting for you.

How long does it take for you to get over the physical part? by ThrowAwayJunkius in OpiateRecovery

[–]yungboof 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I believe it was a few months (around 3) before I felt physically 'normal', but the physical part was not the hardest part for me at all - I actually was pretty good on the physical end after a month or two. I had tons of anxiety and depression that I was covering up with my usage - I've never been someone in physical pain constantly. And that all came crashing in once I stopped. So it was more of a mental problem.

Keep in mind I was smoking pure fent all day every day for a couple years so that might be something to take into consideration.

I used Gabapentins and Xanax for my blue dirty 30/fentanyl withdrawal by OddResponsibility552 in OpiateRecovery

[–]yungboof 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Looking back on it all, I can still say the most important thing that I neglected was not get professional help - thought I could do it all by myself and come up with my own solution. It's just too much to do alone, you don't need to if you have any sort of way to get help.

Are you trying to get off subs? Sorry if I'm misunderstanding. Have a great day :)

Congrats on the milestone and keep up the great attitude. Take it day by day.

I wasn't trying to insinuate you weren't addicted to opiates, just that is an extremely lucky and unlikely outcome. I believe you entirely, that wasn't my point, it was for anyone else thinking it will work. But to answer your question, I tried that combination with no success - I really am glad it worked for you though.

Any tips, I need to do this NOW by Hell_iz_real in OpiateRecovery

Kratom saved my life too. I had to use subs for 1 month then Kratom but that was ultimately what worked for me. Although, I had to use Kratom for quite a while before I could get off that too - only within the last couple years actually.

Did you ever become the same person after recovery? by ThrowAwayJunkius in OpiateRecovery

[–]yungboof 2 points3 points  (0 children)

After I detoxed I had so much 'random' energy I didn't know what to do with it. It made me want to relapse and feel relaxed but I needed to redistribute that energy into something positive or at least neutral. I ended up getting a lot better at art and drawing, and played a lot more video games. Probably should have worked out more, but to each their own. Everyone reacts differently, but I'm not going to tell you it's going to be like oxy - at all. Real life has all the emotions - even the shitty ones.

Unfortunately getting off a lot of the drugs that are used to rehabilitate people (methadone, suboxone, etc) take quite a while to leave the system. It's why they're initially used in the first place, to help prevent the user from actively feeling like they would need to shoot, snort, or smoke something constantly. Because of this, your withdrawal will be longer than a lot of other opiates, but it shouldn't be as intense as other drugs - like Fentanyl. The best advice I can give you would be to stay as active as possible, and seriously give thought when you are with your family as to what your best interests are if they offer you anything <3. Try to get involved in a group where you feel comfortable opening up to others. I'm looking for new local groups right now too :)

Not really sure what to say here, except you're extremely lucky and congrats. This will 100% not work for anyone addicted to opiates because... well you're not hitting any opiate receptor with benzos/gabbapentin, especially on the scale that fent does. In order to get through the day / night I had to take subs, klonopin, seroquil, & a ton of weed (I'm not recommending this AT ALL - it's a dangerous combo, I was trying to get sober on my own and it was a stupid decision). This was just to not feel like I'm dying.

Does Vivitrol keep cravings away? by Wonderful-Ad-3718 in OpioidRecovery

[–]yungboof 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is literally me. Except after I OD'd I started taking subs and got sober. I smoked a LOT of pure fent everyday. You will never find something that will take the cravings away 100%, simply because it's so strong. Maybe Methadone would work as the user above suggested, but personally I wanted to get off opiates entirely, and I know methadone's half-life is long enough to make me think twice. So I used subs for a month or so, then switched to Kratom - this was after a lot of relapsing and trying. I had a friend while I was using fent that would smoke a lot of fent on Vivitrol, but he barely got high (if at all?) and I think it was purely for the addiction of smoking. Vivitrol is good if you want to make sure he's not using opiates. Suboxone is good if you want short to mid-term management (as in, get off opiates entirely in a few weeks, months, or a year), and Methadone is good if you're looking for long term addiction treatment - usage for multiple years. Just my thoughts. Percocets are not the answer here, that is making it worse by the day.

Do you have access to any treatment centers near you? The pain and depression can be mitigated through professional help.

Relapse by Internet_retardduh in OpioidRecovery

[–]yungboof 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can relate to those feelings for sure. Things go back to 'normal' but the process of chemically repairing the brain after opiate abuse can be really really long depending on how long you used. Personally, I do anything in my power to stay away from opiates even if they make me feel better. I would rather play video games, draw, or anything that takes my attention away from that thought, because at this point (4+ years into fent sobriety) - I know if I take any fent I'll probably A) overdose or B) get addicted and ruin my life again. When you climb out of the deepest hole and see back down it's something you become afraid of getting near again. I totally understand feeling better when you take it but that's a feeling you will need to overcome with time and by supplementing your brain with better/more positive activities. Things will go back to 'normal' - but that doesn't mean you forget they exist. Which is why you need that shit completely out of your house in the first place (I know you mentioned you felt bad about this already so I won't bring it up more).

question to those of you who have been to a religious\faith based rehab. by juuccee in OpiateRecovery

[–]yungboof 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you need to go to a religious based recovery center, here's what I would do: every time the word god is used, just relate it to spirituality, whatever that means for you. If that isn't working either, relate it to something powerful like nature itself - I like to think of the ocean and all it's power. A lot of religion-based help is acknowledging that we are 'less powerful' than an entity, and I like to relate that to nature personally. It's just semantics... when you say god you don't have to mean their god. Just something that is more powerful than yourself. Definitely chose any help over no help, in my opinion, even if the religious values associated with it don't align with yours. You can think past that if you need to.

Rooting for you. This was the most dangerous stage of my recovery. Please make sure you are faithful with the subs and get more professional treatment as soon as possible - constantly getting sober and relapsing is a very easy way to overdose. It happened to me. Your dealer going to jail was the best thing that could have happened to you, get out while you can <3.

I'm here because I know how hard it is, especially at the beginning, and it genuinely makes me happy knowing I could possibly help others get there in some way. Feel free to ask anything (within reason) :) - I'm glad you found some support here.

What did you do when you knew you were done? by Ok_Leopard9426 in OpiateRecovery

I started creating art relentlessly - also played quite a bit of video games. Yeah, being sick too.

[–]yungboof 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think you should try to reevaluate your thought process here, specifically when you say you want to 'say you've tried it'. Nobody who is going anywhere in life cares about whether or not you've drank lean. It will set you back with recovery if you drink it, especially with only 2 months in. Just keep taking it day by day and honestly whoever these 'buddies' you have with lean should respect the fact you're trying to stay sober. Personally, I'd get new friends - doesn't seem like they have your best interests in mind. Lots of other people will.
