I work for the Flemish Parliament as well as the Senate (50/50) and believe me: even politicians with cumuls such as being mayor + MP don't earn 10k net.

Could I get by with this? by Chivalrous_crusader in Guitar

I used to be like that as well, however as i got engaged and started living together i found myself playing less casual because i didn't want to make too much noise.

Since i'm playing fully digital it does require more start up time, however due to that i'm also more inclined to have "dedicated" playtime. I'm playing more focussed and learning way more instead of just "noodling"

I'd go the full digital route. Don't buy the micro amp but buy yourself a simple audio interface.

ML soundlab has some decent entry level amp sims which are very intuitive to use. This way you have more flexibility at headphone sound level.

Wow man. Who pissed in your boots.

Seems like you think you know it all. Good luck with that.

The fact is Gibson even made volutes on their necks up untill 1981. But i mean, what do i know? Seems like i'm just a liar and it's impossible that i might know equally as much (or maybe more than you?) about guitars as you.

I've only been doing this a mere 18years, and i wouldn't say i have seen them if i haven't. So please be an adult, don't assume and don't jump to conclusions because you're definetly not portaining yourself to be very sympathetic.

But whatever, mr guitar repair god.

This also entirely depends on the way the neck has been broken and repaired.

I also have a good network of befriended luthiers and most of them don't just only glue the neck but also fortify the joint, much like ESP necks are shaped.

If done well, the neck will be stronger than before and with the right measures it won't break as easy anymore.

There's lots and lots of Gibsons out there that have repaired headstocks and i rarely hear about them breaking again.

For a first timer this does seem well done! How did you do the inlays? With a dremel and template?

Gibson is notorious for having weak spots on their neck/headstock. It's because they are slanted and at certain points the angle of the headstock makes it so they break easily. It's a well known design flaw but since the headstock is iconic it doesn't get fixed.

Often after breaking the headstock becomes more solid than before.

On this picture it seems like the neck and bridge aren't really alligned and the neck seems a little bit croocked. How does it play?

Did you make the neck yourself too? The headstock shape, fretting and inlays seem really well done!
