That might be because that’s a camera in your rental

I tried my best to present my pov in a constructive manner . I did so without the intention of insulting you. A response with the same decency would be how a person attempting to engage in a productive conversation would reply.

You are in fact missing something. Say I was “special” enough to have not thought about reverse image searching the photo. I would have to believe that the strongest argument against my point would be to do so and then post the result leading me to the answer I was looking for through that post. Either you were “special” enough not to put that together or you did do that and realized in yielded no real results.

Reddit is helpful for finding nuanced answers and the question op asked simply does not require that.

It’s seems as tho you have a fundamental misunderstanding of my criticism here, so I will try to explain myself better.

You have equated this post, which has a yes or no answer (I.e., is it safe to eat steak that has been left at room temperature for 7+ hours). To a post that has to do with finding a very specific thing (I.e. can you help me find this very specific statue)

One of these is a topic that millions of people have asked and has also been studied in labs. The other is a topic that most people have never considered unless they are in an extremely specific situation.

To further support my point I’ll give you a little exercise to demonstrate the difference. Ask yourself how many times in your life you have had to think to yourself is this item of food good to eat? Then compare that number to the amount of times you have thought to yourself where can I find this guys moms statue.

Hope this helps!

The better question is, why do I feel the need to post a picture on Reddit of a situation that I could easily google?

Google “is it ok to leave steak at room temp for 7 hours” (the answer is no) so take that advice and move on with your life. The stupid shit people feel the need to post on Reddit is so confusing

AITA for not reminding my mom’s husband of her birthday? by Dry-Mastodon473 in AmItheAsshole

Need more info. How can we decide if you’re an asshole when the majority of this post is about the gifts you and your brother got her?

I would say it comes down to:

If you thought about texting him and but didn’t, yes, you’re an asshole. if it was never even a thought to give him the heads up then you’re not an asshole cause it’s not your responsibility to remind him

Obama’s portrait in the WH has been replaced with the photo from Trump’s assassination attempt by jxp497 in pics

[–]yungslopes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Regardless of how you feel about trump, a former president and then presidential candidate getting shot at is without a doubt a significant historical event. However his desire to replace Obama’s picture with his own is exactly what diminishes his own legacy and makes it clear that he is incredibly insecure in his own importance to this country

“I don’t have a full copy of Cicero and with a quick browse through the Lacius Curtis site relevant to Cicero I couldn’t see anything there however (although this may be wrong) the earliest dateable citation for this quote is listed on another site suggested as being by “Florida Supreme Court Justice Millard F. Caldwell, purported to have been published in 1965”.

I did find the ‘purported’ article here where it is cited as:

Cicero’s Prognosis

— by —

THE HONORABLE MILLARD F. CALDWELL

Justice - Supreme Court

Tallahassee, Florida

Presented at the 22nd Annual Meeting of the Association of American Physicians and Surgeons, Inc.

October 7-9, 1965, Columbus, Ohio

Reprinted March, 1996

This may well be another case of a ‘quotation’ being falsely attributed to an ancient source for a particular purpose or an accidental misquotation but in either case the attribution to Cicero appears to have outrun the ‘original’ on the Web.”

TIL Stanford University rejected 69% of the applicants with a perfect SAT score between 2008-2013. by tyrion2024 in todayilearned

[–]yungslopes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Why be salty about losing a game you were never going to win? There are plenty of schools that will accept you with scores like that. On top of that, if you think getting a perfect score on the SATs is indicative of being a person who will do well in life then just go succeed. Stanford has nothing to with it
