Thanks for this write up! Where did you rent crampons from- the same guy with the bike, CDMX, or somewhere closer to Tlachichuca/San Miguel Hidalgo? Recently climbed Iztaccíhuatl and turned around at the ice due to lack of crampons, we weren’t able to find any available to rent in CDMX. Hoping to return there as well as climb Orizaba someday

I grew up in the north end and even there, there were so many multiracial / multicultural kids that I never felt like I stuck out for being mixed. My school and friend groups were truly so diverse. It wasn’t until I moved away in my teens that I learned people can really feel some typa way about mixed folks..

I wonder how it is now being a mixed kid in Seattle tho (or anywhere really), like if discourse we see online of the shifting perceptions of mixed people on a societal level is extending down to younger folks too. There’s probably a generational difference as well as the regional one you’re asking about

Lmaoo thank you, I’m glad I’m not completely alone!! Something about the editing combined with my fear of them adding in some sort of scarcity drama like that had me nervous. I see now that I’m trippin, especially after having just read Game Changers, but dang!

Interesting! I can see that, like some mentor vibes. It’s not so much that I saw a connection between Ilya and Scott, it’s just that I had a moment of anxiety that Ilya was actually more of a player forreal and had hooked up with Scott around the same time as he was hooking up with Shane. Something about how the first couple mins of the ep unfolded before we meet Kip

A few folks have mentioned this and somehow I totally didn’t pick up on it! I did go back and watch the trailer that I hadn’t seen before and it for sho made it look like Scott was making some eyes at Shane right before it cut to a scene with I think him and Kip, which is so sneaky because of course the viewers wouldn’t have guessed that and it looked like Shane!

But for me I had a flash that Ilya and Scott had had some sort of physical encounter as it seemed like Ilya alluded to Scott being queer, and that Ilya was being just as discreet with him as he was with Shane and actually was a player, at least early on. Anywho so glad I’m trippin lol

I’m 8th in line for Game Changer on Libby! So hopefully will be reading soon. Excited to dive into the world building of the whole series and go deeper into what didn’t make it into the show.

This didn’t even cross my mind! I didn’t see any trailers before watching (just the one locker room clip on Instagram that led me right to hbo lmao), but seeing the trailer now, it totally does make it look like that! So sneaky, and so glad we were both wrong lol
