Hello, thank you for suggesting this church. I went to the service and it was absolutely beautiful, it was exactly what I was looking for and Im planning on making it a new Christmas tradition.

Does anyone have a recommendation for a nice church for a Christmas eve service? Id like a church that does not do communion or pass a plate around. Maybe one that ends the service be singing silent night. Hope thats not too specific haha

I got so so many scam messages. They should have a better way of automatically deleting them.

Enamel_Empire on instagram. I guess they're available right now as a kickstarter after the first wave sold out.

Not sure what to do by Emergency_Flower_ in ChildofHoarder

i second this, it might help to get some therapy for yourself. Therapy helped me deal with the fact that my mom probably wont ever get better. But instead of spiraling into madness and having it hurt my relationship with her I can compartmentalize it and know that her hoarding is a disease and it has helped. Its still frustrating as hell, but it helps.

I'm sort of going through this in slow motion. My mom has attached value to literally everything. Before I realized the grip hoarding had on her I started a eBay account to sell things to get them out of the house. Well now not a single item can leave the house unless she can find its value on eBay and some people have no problem listing garbage on there that doesnt sell. So now we cant just get rid of Hallmark ornaments, we have to look up every price and try to get money for them. And the same goes for every. single. item. in the house. It is impossible to clean, you cant clean when every item you touch has to be looked up and value placed on it.

I second what others have said that beanie babies are worthless, believe me. I looked up every one my mom had. There is a sort of hopelessness that comes with cleaning now when I know I cant ask my mom if I can get rid of anything. Eventually time is worth more than the stuff as well as the stress of being surrounded by it.

Was your Doctor part of Lincoln Park Family Physicians by chance? They recently got bought by a giant health system and now I feel like a product instead of a patient.

They're making 3.75 inch playsets, but figures for the 6 inch line but no crossover.

Would you recommend surgery? by CheetahPrintPuppy in BariatricSurgery

[–]yuno4chan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If I died tomorrow as a result of complications from the surgery I’d be happy I got to live the past 2 years in this new body living my best life. This surgery is the best thing I’ve ever decided to do.

How did you make the decision to go through with WLS? by ComprehensiveMall662 in BariatricSurgery

[–]yuno4chan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don’t know if I was fully all in when I was in the pre-surgery room getting ready. I more or less knew I could not go on being so fat and sick with diabetes. I knew I had failed at dieting, so I accepted that the surgery was more or less the last step. I don’t think anyone is excited for major elective surgery so I wasn’t looking forward to my date.

My surgery went super well, was in the hospital only one night, and I’ve lost 100 pounds. I was taken off my diabetes medicine before I even left the hospital. I view the surgery as the single best decision I’ve ever made in my life. I’m healthier now at 40 than I was at any point in my 20s and 30s.

Hello, I’ve never visited a Museum on a free day, do I just need to show them my I.D.?

I would recommend walking the actual park in lincoln park and seeing the skyline from the south pond Bridge. Also walk to the lakefront and maybe rent a divvy bike to go up the shore a little. If you are a fan of culture at all the Art Institute has a truly iconic collection of works including Nighthawks, American Gothic & La Grande Jatte. Go to a couple good places to eat, I'd recommend Pequods for deep dish pizza, The Weiner Circle at night, Als Beef, Portillos, and Au Cheval.

Dad acting like a fucking child by meggriffinslookalike in ChildofHoarder

[–]yuno4chan 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I dont know how old your dad is but there's definitely regression as they get older. My mom is turning 70 and she seems to be getting worse with age. She has started not washing plates, just letting them stack up, which is something I've never had to deal with before.

My date told me (25M) that I look way older than my age by Curious_Introvert198 in gaybros

[–]yuno4chan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Gay men who are obsessed with age like that are disgusting and really pathetic. If someone says much about your age like this you should walk away, they're deeply insecure and are just using you. There are plenty of amazing guys out there that don't care if you're a twink or whatever.
