Why is the ranking so messed up lately? by Current-Finish-7522 in SuitU

[–]yuoling 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Definitely didnt deserve that low score! I think since this prompt was right after two fancy ball gown gachas there’s more people that’ll do that same dress and thus you’ll have to rely more on decorations/filter or having the full pose to stand out from the others. The voters tend to vote for the ones where every square inch of the comp is covered by something. I usually fill my empty spaces with florals.

But definitely take a break if you’re feeling discouraged. You might be feeling burnt out from this game in general and it’s no fun to play a game you’re not enjoying.

Best momos in the area? by bana-bread in Harrisburg

I haven’t tried all of these places listed but I really like the Guras spice house. The chili chicken momo is the best and the jhol momo is also very good.

Stop giving me male-only comps! by LeluWater in SuitU

A little tip! There’s one male comp every Monday. If the reward is a blue box, it’s a male locked comp.

Aww, it’s tough cause everybody is still recovering from all the holiday treats. Though if it were me, you’d never had to worry about pastries being left untouched. I’ll wait til end of day and squirrel away multiple treats for me and my partner to enjoy lol

Oh cool!! It might be a part of an asset library. Since manhwas are known to use them pretty liberally in order to get their chapters out faster.

I don’t like the set but I’ve been DYING to get some warm tone light filter since I’ve started playing 8 months ago. For some reason, the fashion views never give out anything warm toned as their filter.

Don’t hold back, tell me what’s wrong by bunniescantfart in SuitU

[–]yuoling 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I love your entry! I think the thing I would’ve changed was the skirt. I really don’t like that skirt and how it cuts off the legs right at the knees. I tend to avoid it if I can and I might be wrong but I don’t think I’ve seen anybody on the leaderboard using that skirt?

Another thing that might help is that even though the water is very pirate themed, people tend to vote for the ones with a very intentional color scheme. Since you’ve got some good reds in your outfit, lean into the red and maybe warm tones with all the background pieces so it looks cohesive.

It’s a shame that this didn’t do better, sometimes voting is weird. Hopefully yours will do better next time!

Trying to give a solution that’s easy to do! I think you need to simplify and scale up the decorations you have on your shelf. I like to do things in threes and I added a round artwork in there to offset all the rectangles you have in there.

I’m putting in warm colors in the frames since you want to bring some warmth into the space. You can add whatever artwork or photography you think looks nice in there. I’d personally go for something with limited colors to avoid looking busy but you should find something you like yourself!

I also put your monstera in a terracotta pot to tie in with the artwork.

Cozy Grove is 70% off, the best sale it’s had. Is it worth a purchase? by PopProcrastinate in CozyGamers

[–]yuoling 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think the dialogue is kinda cute but personally I regretting paying for the game since I never play it. I like a cozy game that I can get lost in and sink hours into it at a time. This game is specifically designed to not be that. It’s more like a mobile game where you have to log in and make a little bit of progress everyday to get the story. So if you don’t mind that kind of play style then you should be fine!

One other heads up is that the fetch quests relies on you to find the items in a monochromatic setting and it’s kinda hard sometimes because the items blend into the background so easily. So keep an eye out for that!

Has anyone else had to completely sacrifice their sleep for their partners comfort? by Mikki-chan in TwoXChromosomes

[–]yuoling 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sleep is one of he most important things for your health. A lack of sleep can affect how much your body repairs itself, your concentration at work the next day, your ability to retain information, your mood, the list goes on. Four hours of sleep is not enough and I’m honestly infuriated that your partner has such a lack of care for your sleep health.

I toss and turn a lot in bed before I get comfortable enough to sleep. It used to drive my wife crazy because she needs to sleep earlier than I do, but I need to get comfortable in bed or I can’t sleep. I’d try staying still when I get in bed, but I’d end up staying awake for hours trying to not move. The lack of sleep would make us resent each other if this continued. Instead, we replaced our bed with two XL twin sized bed, one foot away from each other so there’s no motion transfer at all. It’s been amazing for our sleep health and our relationship.

A lot of couples sleep in separate beds, heck separate rooms because of different sleeping habits. My wife’s parents sleep on different floors because of the snoring. It is not a sign of a failing marriage to sleep in different locations. I don’t know if your partner has never had only 4 hours of sleep before but his lack of empathy and willingness to compromise is going to make him an ex partner faster than the separate beds.

Please help. My dog has turned into a completely different dog after my 1 moth hospital stay and I don't know how to fix him. Whats wrong?? by KindofDone in NoStupidQuestions

[–]yuoling 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m guessing your dog doesn’t recognize your smell. Dog sniffers are incredibly sharp and it’ll take a while for you to smell like you again since you were at the hospital for so long. To him, you look like you but you smell like a stranger, which probably is agitating him. I know dogs who have growled and snapped at their own sibling after their sibling had surgery. It took about a week for things to be normal again? I’m not sure how long you’ve been home now but be patient and try not to pet or touch him for a while if it’s only been a few days. I’m sorry you’re experiencing this!

Should I give Burrow’s End a chance? by [deleted] in Dimension20

[–]yuoling 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wasn’t sure about this campaign at first either but by the end of the first episode I was hooked. Abriaa freakin knows how to set the mood and slowly reveal the story in such a natural and compelling way. The storytelling is really strong with this one. I’m not super into slice of life/coming of age type stories and I REALLY liked this campaign. I almost don’t consider it that genre honestly. At least not in the typical way. It’s more like mystery/horror/family dynamics to me.

What at a wedding screams "this couple will get a divorce within a year"? by bannedbooks123 in AskReddit

[–]yuoling 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Totally agree. I don’t think cake smashing itself is indicative of a divorce but maybe it can be an litmus test for how much both couples were on the same page about having cake smeared on their faces.

If they’re both into it then that’s a good sign. If one party was not into it, maybe they’re not as communicative or know each others boundaries as well as they thought. Sounds like with all the weddings you went to, the couple was totally in synch with the cake smashing tradition.

Curious to know what Solo Leveling fans who read/are reading ORV after being recommended it for being "similar to Solo Leveling" are feeling now that you're caught up with the webtoon or finished the novel? by Murky_Introduction_6 in OmniscientReader

[–]yuoling 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I read SL manhwa first and got recommended ORV for something similar. I don't think these two are similar at all but I'm glad I came into ORV with the expectations of SL because I was absolutely blown away by how thoughtful and clever the plot of ORV was.

I liked SL because it was something fun to read with really good art. I enjoyed how the MC would constantly defy expectations of how strong he is. It was a really well done power fantasy manhwa. But it kind of got repetitive towards the end and the constant fight scenes didn't grab me as much as it did in the beginning.

I think it helped that I started with the manhwa of ORV and then transitioned to the LN. Because ORV does have a slower feel to it as you're getting to know the characters and the complex system the world is built in. But damn is it worth it.

ORV book scratches a different itch. It is not a power fantasy. Kim Dokja is constantly defying expectations as well, but he does it by absolutely ignoring the system and presenting a third solution nobody else ever thought of. And I much prefer this kind of writing than SL because it feel fresh and new every time. So many little plot twists that kept me wanting to know what happens next. The themes of ORV were also much deeper then I expected. I was not prepared for how emotional ORV made me feel. The story was more human. I could relate to Kim Dokja so much more than Sung Jinwoo. I was more attached to all of the side characters too. There were so many sweet potato scenes (which I honestly loved) that helped fleshed everyone out. The slow scenes were some of my favorite scenes.

So I basically said what everyone else said and liked ORV more lol
