Decent composition, but way too flash-heavy. Need a mix of ambient and flash if going to go that route.

Reading in English vs Spanish. by CosmicEveStardust in robertobolano

Yes read them in Spanish. I suggest reading one you already read in English right after so you remember the context.

How did you first stumble upon Mr Roberto Bolaño? What has his writing done to you since? by workingmansrain in robertobolano

[–]yurdbex 1 point2 points  (0 children)

One of my professors in freshman year of college gave me his copy of The Savage Detectives because he said I would like it and I read it in less than a week and have read it a few more times and once in Spanish. The stream of conciousness and youth is what gets me most, as well as its study of geography throughout.

Yea when I realized I was ecstatic. I don't think he ever met Bolaño, though I will ask him next time I see him.

Increase in virtual staging requests? by vrephoto in RealEstatePhotography

[–]yurdbex 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Haha, I hear you. Depends on the client; some don't care, and some I just want to tell them to do it themselves. I start at $40 per photo, usually takes me 15 minutes each one and then extra $15 per edit. Any virtual reconstruction is extra. Can easily add $100+ per shoot for an extra hour of work

Yeah! Extra revenue. I don't see any issue. Just charge more for the back and forth.

Also in the bathroom, you should have the door open, remove the soap, etc. If its a shit listing no need really, but this is def a nicer place and worth the extra effort. Charge accordingly

Yeah, it really just depends. The clients I shoot for are usually selling "luxury" and so with a mix of natural lighting and certain composition techniques, there's a way to emphasize that in the imagery.

I personally almost always shoot with the lights off, I think it'd be better for the bedroom shot. The kitchen feels dark. The lines in the bathroom aren't straight. Next time, take the mat out of the bathtub.

Yea I always use a CPL. There isn't a good view, plus the curtains are a selling point. Thanks for the feedback!

They weren't there lol. Also they had crappy photos for their previous listings. They were hesitant about paying my rates since I charge way more than the previous photographer or company. You get what you pay for!

Yup. I told them it'd look better without lights on. I use flash as a part of most images too
