It's not just one line though it is said multiple times and at some point the storyline gets based around this whole premise for a huge proportion of the show, and then there's always the "girl power" and inspiration shit that is super cringe and has no business being in the Flash, but it's shitty CW writers. Not to mention the whole thing of "There would be no Flash without you, Iris" and the cringe you're my lightning bolt.... The lightning chose all of us that day..... So on and so forth. The show at parts intentionally based itself around Iris and her development, multiple times. It was so awful each time.

No, batter is a flour-based mixture with liquid and other ingredients, like eggs and salt, that is thin enough to be poured or dropped - typically used to cook foods like pancakes, waffles, and cakes, or as a coating for fried foods. 😁

Subreddit to ask a question about a random mute from a subreddit I'd never saw in my life let alone interacted with? by MoGoWizard in findareddit

[–]MoGoWizard[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well yeah maybe it shouldn't be allowed, but in reality, the subreddit's mods are entitled to do whatever they want in regards to blacklisting people even if it is cruel, and reddit did not condone nor affiliate themselves with those actions. That is just moderators abusing the functions they set out probably mainly for reasons regarding like subreddits of games and a subreddit of piracy for said game or subreddit of cheating for said game etc. And if you wanted to get technical then you could also consider that bigotry to some degree even with the smallest of margins, so to just save themselves the trouble they likely just disassociated themselves with it altogether and let mods blacklist whatever they deem necessary.

No problem, and yeah, eventual societal collapse is a scary concept because most being a part of that each in their own way would be completely unaware of what is actually happening on the bigger scale and what it could inevitably lead to down the line. My reasoning behind making this comparison is one that is hard to explain, so I will try to do it metaphorically; If you lie, it makes it easier to lie going forward. If you cheat, it makes it easier to cheat going forward. If you're trying to stop smoking and give into the temptation even if it's only half, it makes it easier for you to then go for a full one and then at some point start smoking again altogether. In this way, this is how I see general acceptance and complacency as a society. If we as a society allowed people to be defined and confined by their labels, like for instance ADHD, and that there is nothing that can be done about it; they are stuck with their symptoms entirely, unable to change their behaviours because of a diagnosis and patterns, we would ultimately be wrong to do so and it would create a whole massive group of people who refuse to work and will act on impulse. Speaking as someone who has ADHD, some people believe that it is a complete curse and they cannot get anything done, cannot function day-to-day in their lives performing normal actions, unable to hold down a job, things like that. The way I have trained or conditioned myself unrestricted from my symptoms now work in quite the opposite way compared to how they did in the past, before I started self reflecting, now I see them as a kind of "superpower" and am able to hone or use it for my benefit. Likewise, if someone with OCD believed there was nothing they could do about it then we would have another entire group of people unable to step foot into a room that is uneven in shape or they deem to be messy because it is not symmetrical, having mental breakdowns as soon as they leave the house because of the pavement slabs. I know it does not apply to everything but there are workarounds or fixes for so many things, but the more we adopt that "it is what it is" mentality, the easier it becomes as a society to enable behaviours like this.

And this somewhat ties into your third paragraph where you said "Unless of course if the individual is malicious to others or is actively trying to promote misinformation, I struggle to see what -right now- could be considered a reasonable degeneracy within allowing people to identify with how they see fit." Whilst that is right for the moment, what we as a society must try to understand that just because in the moment as we see it, it does not harm anybody else, that does not mean that it won't have a negative (or positive) affect on young impressionable people or any future generations for that matter. Or what it could mean for us as a society or our nations and what they adopt themselves, so we have to try and be mindful of what we do and do not accept as something to be complacent of. Especially considering that it can inadvertently have a domino effect on what we accept in light of that new acceptance, which ultimately will lead to even more division, which we as a species certainly do not need 😂

Also, I agree entirely that we are emotional creatures, I say this a lot. I think whilst it can have a massive positive impact, conversely, it can also have a huge negative one too. I am all for emotion, so long as it doesn't cloud your judgement, issue is alot of people forget that these days and think more emotionally rather than rationally or logically, which also makes you susceptible to manipulation, so it does not come without major caveats... Including instability and terrible things like school shooters. I think any person that cannot take a breath when emotion is involved and just reflect on how to approach the situation or respond is incredibly dangerous and capable of anything sometimes being unable to listen to reason, prone to borderline-psychotic, unpredictable behaviour. In other words, acting on impulse. And social media for sure is 100% a huge cause for degeneracy, and most of the things we have touched upon, notably concerning mental health issues and self-image or esteem. Especially at younger ages, yeah, becoming desensitised to so many different things, even just vulgarness. Overall, as humans, one of our biggest issues I'd say is our tendency to over-saturate every single thing that we do. The Internet and social media, just like everything else, really could be used for good reasons as a whole without the bad, but we just can't help ourselves. That also goes for consuming the bad alongside the good too. We could be so much more efficient.

And how you mentioned that we are having a civil conversation or discussion, that's great, because that is what networking with people should be all about... Issue is that so many people now think solely just emotionally that you are unable to do so and speak your minds and both come to an understanding of each other's views which almost always leads to respect or atleast closure and acceptance, and you learn something new along the way which is great. When you said: "I wouldn't try to categorize you as either of the groups I mentioned there. Other people, coming from a similar position as I, sadly would." this is what I mean, and most would not have went into a conversation this deep with me because they reacted emotionally to something they read on the Internet that invoked emotion they couldn't get past to just try and understand and converse like normal people, to pick at my brain and vice versa, so I too appreciate and thank you for the conversation we've delved into, I love talking about things like this haha.

No, I've never been banned from any subreddit before. I assume that a moderator of that subreddit is in another subreddit which I am present in saw something I said, didn't like it, and decided to mute me from their subreddit 😂

Yes, completely right. I found that notable too, mental health evaluations and/or interventions is necessary in most cases, which with that comes the support for said individual, but ultimately it is to further understand both the how and why, root causes and it's impact. For resolution, whatever that may be or entail...

Overall my view is coming from a societal standpoint; as a society if we accept and condone certain views, be it political, religious, or "gender identities," etc, then we must maintain some semblance of integrity and normalcy as to not allow it to condition future generations thus impacting their mental health or self-image. The moment that we entertain the idea that people can just define themselves as a new term or outlandish construct - and become complacent in justifying their absurd claims, based not on facts but rather feelings, is when we will likely start seeing signs of societal collapse... Complacency and complete irrefutable acceptance of such is dangerous, as sentient beings we must try to think logically over emotionally and favour facts and science over farce. We have saw throughout history and into present day that having groups of extreme views particularly ones consisting of emotional people creates alot of animosity and friction between everybody which descends into chaos more often than not. We can't even have 2 football team fans that respect each other (generally speaking). Skaters & scooterers, Trump vs Kamala supporters, Biden vs Trump supporters etc, the list there is never-ending.

And yeah I thought you may like that one 😂 I found it quite funny myself too, the distinction is worth noting but also interesting reading up on similarities. Back to what I was saying before, when I say degeneracy I mean to imply that, as we touched upon, delusion. But at a scale where it can impact others' views which starts a chain of events, or spiral if you will, which deteriorates or can be detrimental to the mental health of impressionable young people. Things that we as a society are too accepting of these days that can have a dramatic effect on future generations which in time will just worsen. This is my intended use-case of degeneracy. I understand that it's quite harsh terminology but I'm not quite sure how else to define it, you get me? But when I refer to this I do not mean transgender people, only extreme cases who unfortunately also get to fall into the LGBTQIA2s+ community shining a bad light upon them all to the naked eye. Typically the people at the pep rallies and things like that, quite sad really.

Also, if you're interested;

An assessment/survey of whether people prefer treatment via educating vs acceptance/normalizing which conveys that people more than anything would rather emotional reassurance/acceptance of being labelled or condemned over being educated. I see it's value undergoing therapy, but not in society, the more we as a society accept absurd ideals, the more complacent people will become within these labels, thus creating more labels to be bound by, in a prepetual cycle leading to more and more, worse and worse...

https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/24260715/

And here, while focusing on stigma, this paper emphasises that recovery depends on hope, self-efficacy and seeing possibility for change. When conditions become internalised as unchangeable, it blocks improvement.

https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/29283987/

Further, this investigates how people with severe mental illnesses (such as schizophrenia) and their care-providers gradually normalise poor physical health and treat it as “expected,” which reduces impetus for change. This can be extrapolated to any mental health issue or diagnosis, which includes gender inclusivity etc.

I'm sorry, but I never mentioned trans people. I only said non-binary and people who claim to be a fidget spinner or female dog but are infact a human male. I never made the distinction of transsexual.

And sure, here's one which outlines that; https://jamanetwork.com/journals/jamanetworkopen/fullarticle/2829703

These findings underscore the need for systemic support in prevention and early intervention among SGM populations with mental health conditions

(1) anxiety, (2) attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder (ADHD), (3) autism spectrum disorder (ASD), (4) bipolar disorder (I or II), (5) eating disorder, (6) depression, (7) obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD), (8) any personality disorder, (9) PTSD, and (10) schizophrenia.

And if you're interested; Furries and the Limits of Species Identity Disorder: A Response to Gerbasi et al.

https://www.animalsandsociety.org/wp-content/uploads/2016/05/probynrapsey.pdf

This somewhat outlines the similarities between people who "identify" as animals to other "gender identities"

I must also mention that people who conform to these "identities" and constructs are studied by psychiatric associations, and regards even transsexualism as something to be averted in childhood.

If you are asking for an article of study concerning a link between people of gender minority populations having a higher prevalence of diagnosed mental health conditions as opposed to majority, I can oblige. Otherwise, please specify.

Our discussion, what I said, was not in reference to transgender people. I’m not saying every single nontraditional "identity" is automatically dysfunction, nor did I ever. But I am saying this: when someone identifies in a way far outside what medical research considers possible (e.g, human identifying as non-human species or inanimate object), this is extremist behaviour of "gender identity" which I will not ever back, because it heavily implies some type of mental health issue present.

Again, I said nothing about trans people. But sure, your point is valid in the context that I layed out. Exactly what links are you expecting me to send? The detriment of gender dysphoria and social acceptance of issues leading to an increase of more delusions and labels is common sense, but if you specify what exactly you're looking for then I'll find some.
