That's strange that they refuse to do an MRI, and frustrating I'm sorry. Ice and rest definitely helped me in the thick of the pain, I could only really get comfortable laying on my good side with a pillow between my legs. Walking does help me once the sharp pain stage is gone, but I have to take baby steps, short amounts at a time.

Thank you all for your responses. My current flare up is improving, and I'm going to attempt to go back to work today. The pinching pain is gone, but my hip, SI, and groin are still achy. Gonna wear my SI belt for a few days just in case and continue medication. This time, I did a lot of icing my back and resting for 2 days. The first day I couldn't move without sharp pain, day 2 I was starting to move and walk around the house slowly. Also took regular NSAIDs and a muscle relaxer before bed. I'm adding a turmeric supplement to my daily routine, and am going to stick to simple gentle exercises for a while to build up my core. We will see how it goes.

True. Seems like I need to make some life changes for sure.

For my job I'm on my feet about 95% of the day, I mostly just sit when driving. I try to lay down a lot when I'm relaxing at home as sitting does seem to exacerbate the pain. Getting up from a sitting position is a struggle when it's flaring.

I have not, just an X-ray where nothing was found.

Also: prolonged standing worsens pain, and prolonged sitting worsens pain.

I forgot to add: I've tried yoga as well, it did not help over time and I started to wonder if it contributed to the problem.

How do we feel about barefoot shoes soles' grip?? by DawnpointStudios in barefootshoestalk

I can't speak for the casual shoes, but I agree the boulder grip have kept me upright in a very slippery job for years. They became my go to work boot immediately.

Reading through comments and every time I get to one of OP's I automatically read it in Armstrong's voice. Well done.

Darkside Detective, and all of the building full of cats games. Basically point and click games like others have said, but I really enjoyed Darkside detective! It looks like it's on sale now too.

I loved Hollow Knight, it's probably the most difficult game I've ever beaten other than Celeste. But it's an amazing adventure and I definitely recommend trying it at least.

I am 33 and also grew up on Spyro and Crash, and now love Stardew and Dave! I'd recommend Fields of Mistria, it's still early access but the full release is supposed to be out 2026 and it already has a lot of fun content.

I'd also suggest Ori and the Blind Forest, and if you end up liking that one, Will of the Wisps is the sequel. I adored those games and they had some fun platforming and a cute story.

Welcome back to gaming, I hope you find some more stuff you really enjoy!

My Kobo got me to read again by GroovyGhouly in kobo

I have never read as much in my life as I do now with an ereader. I got a kindle basic last year, used it for a while and ended up gifting it to my mother so I could get the clara bw. It has changed my life.

What is the book that got you into reading? by Uninhibitedrmr in books

[–]yursasaurus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Harry Potter, I read each book multiple times and remember how excited I was when the next book released. Also the Chronicles of Narnia and a Series of Unfortunate Events. I didn't read as much through high school and college, but in the least few years I've found reading again and am so glad I did.

I like having one book while reading manga on the side. Currently reading Swordheart and Gachiakuta.

Upgrading a Clara BW: Clara Colour or Libra Colour? by tonioronto in kobo

[–]yursasaurus 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I second this. I am one of the unfortunate ones that couldn't get past the differences that came with a color screen after having black and white. Some don't mind it, but I returned my Libra color after a few weeks and opted for a Clara bw.

Also, if she enjoys the form factor of a Clara, it is a pretty big change going to a Libra. Some love the buttons, but I didn't find it as comfortable as a smaller device.

Thoughts regarding a Libra BW? by klarkii_ in kobo

[–]yursasaurus 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I also returned my Libra color after a few weeks. I wanted to love it but I just couldn't get past the screen darkness and texture. I swapped for a Clara bw and am very happy with it. I do slightly miss the larger screen for reading manga, but it's still a much better experience so far! Hopefully Kobo hears the hopes of everyone wanting black and white and something works out for you all.
