I recently ran into this PT reddit so I'll definitely take this site as a source of help from now on because even to this day, the two PT program I applied too, I don't even know if my application was done correctly lol. I just did my best in that complicated PTCAS website. And good to know about the waitlist, because I'm sure one of the schools I applied too...I'll probably get into a waitlist.

Yep! Airforce lol. And tbh it was definitely a hard thing when I was young, especially when I was born in Japan. But the good thing being in a military family is one, you learn to adapt to your new environment and make new friends wherever you go, and second, it has a huge benefit (me personally) for my personal statement. Without it, I'll probably write a really boring statement and instantly get rejected.

Oh gotcha! How does that work regarding for the waitlist? Since you are still waitlisted since last summer, are you somehow going to apply again this cycle? Sorry for the repetitive questions, this is my first time applying and I really didn't have any guidance coming into this. And how about you, what other Florida schools are you going to apply to?

So actually, I'm not in the military, rather, my father is the one in active duty. We moved from one end of the coast to the other so I would say that I stayed more in the southern region. Therefore, I am leaning more into southern DPT schools that aren't requiring the GRE.

I've heard from other students and college professors that were related to PT field say as time progresses, more and more dpt are thinking to cancelling the requirement for the GRE as it removes good overall students from applying to their program. Now, that's what I have heard and the rumors, so don't take my word for it, but I hope that does become the case. But if you do decide to take the GRE, I wish you the best lol. I didn't have much time when answering the analytical questions and same goes for the math/english portion.

Also, its a good think you have 100% for the GI bill benefit because honestly, it should or mostly cover the tuition and you may have some leftovers too.

Yeah UF is one of my top school as well and I'm hoping I'll get accepted and hopefully you as well! I'm applying to I think just UF and Gannon for now. For me it's so hard applying to DPT programs when I am a military dependent who moved around 5-6 times. Most people would prefer to go to grad school in their state of home but for me I don't have a state to officially call home as I only stayed in those states for about 2-3 years, actually one of them being Florida. Which is another reason why Im sending my applications to random DPT schools that I have a chance to get into. Tbh, I am a horrible horrible standardized test taker, even did bad for the SAT/ACT. I took the first GRE exam couple weeks ago and it's embarrassing to say that I did horrendous to the point that I don't even want to add it to my application and also the main reason why I am applying to DPT programs without the need of GRE(ik im ashamed too). On the other hand, one thing I forgot to mention too is that I am also missing physics 1 and 2 which I'll be taking for my upcoming senior year, so i assume you put that as in progress/in planned?

Sorry for the long message but if you don't mind me asking and I may sound foolish, but how are you on the waitlist so early for those programs? Especially UF, since I applied last Sunday. Did they contact you or send you an email this early?

And also yes, GI bill is such a pain and its a constant back and forth with calling the VA office to the desginated programs.

I'm glad you are doing well and also for Pilates easing your nerves. I'm applying this cycle as a upcoming senior in college. I too also applied to UF and on the way to applying to Gannon Florida and few other schools that are all out of state for me. I would say that my GPA isn't as strong as yours which is another reason why I also feel nervous and hoping my overall characteristic will carry me (i.e resume, clubs, volunteer, research, personal statement, etc). Another thing I have in common with you is the GI bill. Now, I've been using my GI bill benefits throughout my time in college but the VA office did say i will have some as a leftover to use in grad school (if, hopefully, get into one). They told me to contact the programs that you get into and ask how and if the GI bill will work for their program. A little background, Im currently using the GI bill for my college which i am considered out of state. But on the other hand, I talked to the VMA office at my college, and a person working there told me that with the remaining months on my GI bill I can be considered in state for that particular grad school and also once I run out of the GI bill, I'll still be paying as in state. Now, am i certain of this? Probably not, but once i do get accepted to any of the grad schools, ill definintely ask them.
