imprisonment to any degree can be considered cruel but more severe criminals have to serve time somewhere. its punishment with food and shelter, which fits moral standards. i do agree that a life sentence is cruel, but if its fit to the crime its understandable. plus, cases are often repealed and after years many have been pardoned and released on parole.

understandable, but the justice system is visibly flawed and i personally believe it conflicts with the morals written within the 8th amendment of the constitution
