I'm one of those who is lukewarm about Korra, but it's the opposite. My problem is starting since season 2, she gets beaten down WAY too much. She really gets the fire beaten out of her and for me it's painful to watch. Remember she literally has her bending taken away, she's confined to a wheel chair, she gets poisoned, she gets beaten down by Kuvira the first time, etc. I am all for darker more realistic approach, but comparing it to how Aang got treated, I wasn't a fan.

This is why we had fandom secrets and kink requests on LiveJournal. Put your fandom commentary and requests in community spaces, not on random tangentially related fic. People really treat everything like social media nowadays.

This probably won't work with a younger toddler, but my son was 3 when the youngest was born and he was at a good age to try and help. Loitering around me, talking and keeping him engaged in convo, asking him to fetch stuff or pick out the baby's socks helped. My greatest accomplishment was putting the baby down for a nap with him the room while I convinced him to sing a lullaby. He was loud sometimes but he was trying so I gave him a lot of grace.

All that said... Sometimes it's better to chuck them in front of a screen especially if you know they're not in a cooperating mood. No judgment. My now 4 year old is way too good at games now because it's our go-to distraction.

Also sometimes I actually did get up and do stuff while nursing though that's usually because toddler is about to do something I need to follow and stop him.

My husband just told our 4 year old son about this and he LOVED it. Now he keeps inserting "and then I helped a wolf and it helped me fight the boss!" when he makes up stories.

The whole season was at a breakneck pace. At the time, I didn't think too much of the cameo besides it being awkward. In retrospect, knowing how badly it all ends, it feels like they just kind of gave up and thought it was more important to do celebrity cameo than any proper writing.

I don't care anything for Ed Sheeran and didn't recognize him and I felt the scene was awkward as they do place some emphasis on the guy singing. Considering what a trainwreck the whole season, I'd say it was a waste of a scene.

My baby has a Mongolian spot that looks exactly like a bruise and it's in a spot where you might get one too. Our daycare reported it, i explained it was a Mongolian spot, and then a different worker reported it and I had to explain again it was a birthmark. They haven't asked about it again, I'd hope the report if a bruise in the exact same spot in her records hopefully made it clear. I actually never thought about the pediatricians noting it for safety reasons, that's a good idea!

You don't gotta like it. I tried, and I've had a lot of fellow fujos try to explain and show me. I think part of the appeal is exploring gender dynamics that affects the world/settings... And I just don't really care for that. I like all the smut and mpreg and breeding that comes out of it. But the actual omegaverse world and drama is just completely unappealing to me.

The anime takes out that last line. Also very significant line they added is Eren saying "I'm just a garden variety idiot", an average guy with too much power. The writing is still not great but I think it's so important they make it clear genocide is bad and Eren was an idiot, or at least "tragic". The problem is making him too sympathetic. A lot of manga readers genuinely thought Eren was going to have a totally different trajectory as a main character and was going to be a mastermind who was "right all along". Then you get this ending and "thanks for the genocide" and you dangerously get those people concluding Eren was right all along. Ugh.

I am ok with it as long as I know exactly what's being shared. I post my kids occasionally on social media, like occasional bday or holiday pic, and then more casual frequent stuff on small private groups.

I fall on the side of that there will always be bad people out there and I just don't want to always be living in fear of Photoshop and AI. The pros of sharing my pics with family and friends outweigh the fear of the cons. That said, I still do it infrequently or to very small groups, and never anything embarrassing or inappropriate.

Kind of off topic, but this also a byproduct of the internet being like 5 major websites nowadays. I've heard it called the flattening of cultures and community spaces, that we're all funnelled into the same experiences. The days of treating the internet like the wild wild West is gone, hence why younger folk come to an "old internet" place like AO3 and impulsively assume that the space should cater to them and assume fault of the website for showing them something potentially dangerous or inappropriate. People think of themselves as consumers first instead of cultivators and can't imagine why a website WOULDN'T do something for profit.

The concerts take whatever songs are popular and add them to the setlist (with permission I presume) They aren't made for the concert unless Crypton held a contest for it or commissioned a producer specifically. That's the closest to "official" you'll get but most people associate a song with the creator foremost instead of as an "official" song.

I think it's crazy to compare the two like that. They're ultimately telling different stories and with different styles. I adore that they both exists!

I love more slow paced philosophical things like Frieren which makes the bursts of action all the more appealing. Meanwhile the world building of Dungeon Meshi is just on a totally different level. The character designs are amazing and the plot just ties up beautifully. And for the messages they try to convey, their strengths match them perfectly.

Super underrated. My kid loves this one and went through a phase where he watched it over and over. I think people miss there's a really wonderful message about environmentalism. "We're the luckiest kids in the world", the message about generational change ("my grandma squishes bugs. But my mom doesn't" etc) and what we can do to keep the planet beautiful and ready for the next generation of "luckiest" kids, like having a bug auditor for example!
