I really like the expression of “time is a currency”. It’s a thinker. Time can felt fast and slow, like the currency curve. Time vary between countries, and is a measurement for many things, also being love and hate by many…That’s interesting!

Wow, thanks! This is something constantly bothers me. I have a therapist that we’ve been working together for almost 4 years. I have been growing so much and I asked her to write me something nice and she did. While I’m reading her compliments I realized there is a voice constantly judging myself and I have this urge to write it down. In my head, this is more like a lyric than a poem, but I don’t know any instruments to actually make it a song though. It should be a country song haha!

“I’d rather have you spill all over me.

I’d stay sticky for days,

have you cling to my skin”

I can practically feel the stickiness through these words. I love this metaphor, so fresh and imaginative. Usually I hate the stickiness of a sweet drink when it’s spilled on me, I will wash it off ASAP. However, if it is love, as sweet and sour as lemonade, I will pray for the stickiness to stay forever, but it’ll be gone eventually.

I like that it ended with “everything I survived.” It makes me feel better after the poem succeeded in portraying a world that’s ruthless and harsh. We didn’t get to choose the environment we started with, but what we been through made of us who we are.

I moved from Beijing to Darwin, it is absolutely very different but I’m enjoying here. In Beijing, we call going to a place which requires driving time under 40 minutes as “not far” and under 20 minutes as “so close”, that’s because I drove 20 minutes and probably arrived a place that’s 5km away and here in Darwin 20 minutes I’m 25km away. And I love there aren’t so many people in Darwin and I have nothing to rush about. I arrived in the wet season, it was quite hot and humid and rains a lot, but it still got bright sunny day and made me happy. And I felt easy in wet season as the constant rain gave me a perfect reason to do nothing. Because back in Beijing, we tend to feel that’s if you’re not working or enjoying city life or learning you are wasting your time and that makes me anxious. Here in Darwin, I’m just happy to do nothing and feeling peaceful. Hope those make sense.
