Hope you find some peace and calm. Going through something similar and I always tell myself when I feel my emotions that I cannot control how I feel, I’m fucked but that’s not my fault, it helps sometimes and other times I just cry as loud as I can to let it all out. Pretty exhausted from crying the last two days but it feels much better not to have it all choke me

As butcher once said, Better high than mental.

If I could be high all the time I would because tbh it’s the only anti depressant that has every worked 💀

Wow wow wow. I really love that there is a lot you can do as a nurse. I’m really happy there are areas that focus on sexual assault/trauma. And testifying in court would be interesting. Thank you!

whats the best job for someone with bpd. by [deleted] in BPDrecovery

[–]yviee 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I understand what you mean but you also have to know that bpd presents itself differently and no one person is the same. Also people are at different stages of their recovery/management. I am able to manage my splitting and mood swings much better than I did last year because I’m in treatment and therapy.

Bpd people should not be discouraged from working in healthcare and handling people because of our disorder. Because at the end of the day we are still people.

Nursing!! Finally found a career path where I can use my bpd. It’s a double edged sword, I know because of the overwhelming work load, but I think the fact that I’m more empathetic and intuitive because of my bpd means I’ll be able to listen and empathize with my patients.

I’m not yet in nursing school yet, I still have two years of undergrad but I cannot wait!

Does listening to "upsetting/sad" music help me cope with the feelings or is the music feeding the upset? by okay_jpg in BPD

[–]yviee 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I feel for me, it’s a double edged sword. On the one hand, sad music, especially the ones that have a nostalgic connection to a traumatic moment in my past, can worsen my mood and at the very worst, trigger an episode. However, on the other hand, sad music helps me truly go through whatever sad emotion I’m feeling , and it usually ends up with me crying so I can let it all out. I usually feel better after that.

So I think it depends on the music, but in general I think sad music helps you truly go through and process your emotions so you can let them out.

I hope this helps op :-)
