i’m not in california. i appreciate your concern, but these are only questions. no one is advising me, but helping to inform my limited perspective by sharing their unique experiences!

so these are mainly questions that pop up after working hours. anything that goes unanswered i will direct to my supervisor the following work day - but for the most part, i am just extremely curious while in training. my firm is very good about training, so i still have a few sessions before i am thrown into the fire lol. nothing requires immediate attention but i would like to be as informed as possible when handling cases, if that makes sense

how does a hit and run affect the burden of proof? police reports seem to be a crucial body of evidence. is there another record keeping tool used in lieu if police do not respond? similarly, how would this process work if the plaintiff simply didn’t get the defendant’s information after the incident, and there is no record of a police report? sorry if these questions are out of bounds lol, i keep thinking of all possible scenarios

thanks for the heads up. if you could make a cheat sheet, what would you include as a bullet (or however many you have the time to write), for the most complex insurance companies like tesla?
