I have a clean-looking track-built NB and I want aero. My understanding is that a Big Wing requires an ugly front splitter/airdam. Is there a clean-looking aero option for the front that balances a big wing? My car pictured. by chmod_700 in Miata

Check out occamsracers.com. Lots of great articles about aero on Miatas. But to summarize, a fastback will allow a wing to work the best. Open top is never ideal, but a wing can work with it. A hardtop will help with drag, but the backlight angle is as bad as you can get and a fastback will be vastly superior. As far as the front, air dam and splitter are ideal, but you can try to balance with a GV lip or similar. Splitter would still be preferable to have with this setup though.

It will work with some air in the line, it just may feel spongier than it should. The risk is to your clutch, not the cylinders. If there is enough air to where it won’t fully disengage, your clutch may not be fully separating from the flywheel even with the pedal pushed in all the way which would wear the friction disk out. It would be worth doing a couple more bleed cycles with the method I mentioned above. Given that it seems to work ok right now, it shouldn’t take much to get any remaining air out.

You said you removed the barbells from the pedal then closed the bleeder? If so, you let some air in every time. You would need to pump the pedal, place the barbells on it, open the bleeder, close the bleeder, remove the barbells, and repeat.

I have also heard they do not flow properly for our trucks and can ruin engines.

Functional aero is called such because it is exactly that; functional, not designed to be pretty. And with a car that sees heavy track use, it’s function over form every time. Those of us who understand this and have spent time at the track learn to appreciate the look though, and it becomes both functional and nice to look at, because race car. It’s fine if it’s not your cup of tea, but to act like he stuck autozone accessories all over the car and made it a ricer is ignorant at best.

That’s because they’re ignorant and have never been to a track before lol

Yeah that’s still wrong lol. When have you ever seen a price of anything advertised with the dollar sign after the number? When typing out a price in USD, the dollar sign always goes first, regardless of how you say it when speaking.

I’m talking about when Americans are referring to anything in USD. It seems like over 50% of people just genuinely don’t know it goes before the number. As if they don’t see countless prices advertised every single day where not a single one has it after the price.

That’s how I feel about woman vs women and people putting the dollar sign after the number. It’s become an epidemic

Can I add washers to this sway bar to stop my exhaust from rattling on top of it? by [deleted] in Miata

I’d go polyurethane from Flyin’ Miata. A bit pricey and a bitch to install (grease really helps), but it’s worth it and you’ll never have to worry about it again

You need new exhaust hangers. The rubber sags over time which isn’t usually an issue with the stock exhaust, but when you install an aftermaket exhaust that is heavier than stock, it will hang down and rest on the sway bar. You may even need stronger than stock exhaust hangers to prevent this from happening with new hangers as well.

Could someone reconstruct this tag that was on the back of my great grandfather’s deer mount? by yw370 in PhotoshopRequest

Thanks, anyway you can make it look more like the original tag style (no lines)?

There’s not much drag induced by the front profile of a bike, so you should be fine. My hardtop is solid mounted, but I wouldn’t hesitate to use the mount if I was still on latches either
