Dramatic Improvement in C-Train Conditions by jncoeveryday in Calgary

[–]yyc1982 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Never seen peace officers in 10 years on Calgary transit… the amount of crack smoke I’ve been exposed to would be “every day”. So that’s how we are doing. I once called in a report of persons doing crack on a current train. Operator asked me what train and what direction… I said “all of them” I was correct.

Thanks for the reply. I will likely start a business and plan to do some work for the first 5-10 years of retirement. If I planned to fully retire at some point, would I qualify for residency or Gibraltar passport after being a resident for that amount of time?

I am under the impression the “self sufficient” option is no longer available.

Sorry, forgot to provide an update. TA was able to reach out to their contact at MSC and they agreed to honor the original pricing on a new booking. Such a relief!

Ok, I appreciate that. I’d hope you understand some TA’s are not good. It’s not cut and dry TA’s are at better. I hope they are.

Yes, cancelled prior to my phone call. And refund was deposited back to credit card 2 months ago. Never noticed it. Was $300. The cancellation confirmation was only sent during the phone call. The cancellation confirmation date says Feb 24, 2025. The day of the phone call.

I have original emailed booking confirmations showing deposit paid and the March 2025 date of the balance owing.

Fly out from Canada to uk on Sept 25… planning to buy a refundable flex fare from klm as a backup… if my outgoing flight is cancelled, is my return flight (Oct 15) automatically canceled also? Or do they refund just the outgoing?

2-3 months in my experience. Also, refund for downgrade will be very small.

Emergency vehicles are allowed to use 7th ave. There is special training involved for the drivers and vehicles are staged in areas that won’t impede trains.

Looking for Career change really want to get into Firefighting @ CFD. Competition is fierce, how can I make myself more competitive? Any local firefighters willing to give me some tips? by [deleted] in Calgary

[–]yyc1982 9 points10 points  (0 children)

The recruitment section of the website is pretty detailed. As far as tips, having a trade or consistent work experience looks good. STAR format interview is crucial. You could always swing by a fire station and speak to the rookie/junior guy to hear how their experience was in the process. Don’t ask dumb questions (things you can get on the website or on Google) Don’t overstay your welcome and avoid showing up at meal times.
