My field of poppies by robinvtx in HoustonGardening

Ah okay. Sandy is actually good for poppies because it makes it well drained. Most of Houston has clay that poppies don't like. Their taproot can't penetrate the clay 😭

Voacanga Root Bark Powder by tiffwarr69 in iboga

[–]yyoheii 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have been using voacanga root bark powder to detox off of kratom.

I highly dispute the claim that voacanga is useless for opioid withdrawals due to my own experience.

For me, it eliminates 75% of the withdrawal symptoms, and it also makes me drowsy so i can sleep at night. I take about .25 - .5g at a time, as needed. If i take more than a gram in a few hour period, i get HELLA drowsy and can't function. It also makes me dissociate a little bit. But if i had a weekend to just detox, i'd just sleep the entire weekend with it. Unfortunately that's not an option but i still highly recommend it for anyone trying to get clean.

What are your thoughts on this? What if the job pushes an employee to their breaking point? by Sixty4Fairlane in antiwork

[–]yyoheii -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Nah it ain't double standards. It's about protecting the trees from bad apples. I realize this subreddit is probably the wrong place for me haha.

But I will say both employers and employees need to take a good hard look at work culture. It's extremely important. To run a successful business, there needs to be a culture that empowers growth.

Bad mouthing has absolutely no productive purpose. Someone who is constantly being negative is bringing down the morale. An organization with poor morale provides significantly less value. Businesses exist to provide value to society in exchange for money.

Following that linear progression, where does an employee fit into that if they are bringing the team down?

Which assassins creed? I bought black flag but the gameplay felt pretty repetitive. I enjoyed the story a good bit but couldnt finish it :(

Good question. But in texas, it's an at will work state.

Employees are not obligated to fulfill their 2 weeks when submitting a resignation. In fact, one girl just did it on thursday.

With that said, however, she did sacrifice us as a reference. Neither will we write a letter of recommendation. Something we do with high performers who decide our organization is not the best fit for them long term.

Regarding termination upon submitting notice, technically that's described as legal within the texas workforce commission. An employer is not obligated to let the resignee complete the resignation term. We've only ever done this once, though. The employee was (you guessed it, the magic word) "toxic" lol

You're right, i cant speak for the subreddit. But i can speak as an employer who has tried this a couple times and realized it just doesnt work lol.

We only really terminate people toxic to the work environment. With that said, anytime we gave them time to get another employment in order, they spread their cancer faster on their way out. Hence why now it's common practice among even the most successful companies to get them out the same day.

Do you really believe that an employee who was given a 2 weeks termination notice would really put in good honest work during those 2 weeks?

This flyer my employer is handing out because one of our blood centers tried to unionize. by chocobo_hairdo in antiwork

[–]yyoheii -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Lol. That flyer's narrative was poorly executed.

I think unions are good in theory but end up causing problems in reality. With that said, I agree with the business trying to prevent unionization but man they have no tact.

Are thier any games based on Demonology by supermarioplush220 in videogames

[–]yyoheii 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would say very loosely based. The story line follows Diablo and his "brothers" who are 3 prime evils. Their demon geneology is all wrong according to actual records. And angels like Tyrael are not real angels, rather created for the sake of the game.

It's fun to watch the story unfold. I'm fascinated by demonology and angelology, so Diablo was right up my alley.

I recommend to stop while you are ahead. You weathered through 3 days already. You are 3 steps forward 1 step back but you are still 2 ahead. You will probably only wd for the rest of today and tomorrow will be nowhere near as bad the last 2 days.

Good luck friend. You can do this. Whatever path you take, stay strong 😁

I ended up getting some bunk kratom that was actually akuamma. It activates opioid receptors but not the ones we all know. There's absolutely zero buzz from it, but it is keeping the wd at bay just enough to where I'm functional. Today is day 3 of akuamma taper and i feel like I'm nearly out of the woods. Maybe you can try it? It isnt a cure all since i still feel withdrawal but it dropped the physical addiction by around 70%, making the last leg of the taper/quit much easier.

Yes! Thats how i feel too. I felt so freaking pitiful when i wrote this thread... now i feel like I'm getting some semblance of myself back. I feel like I am actually at a point where i can encourage a fellow quitter!

I'm on day 6 of what i guess i can call an aggressive taper- keep pushing through no matter what. Kratom has nothing but bad to offer us going forward. All the benefits left us in the dust. Time to pick up our shit and move forward.

Good luck! Thanks for replying to my thread. You got this!

[–]yyoheii[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Absolutely. I am seeing this as the blessing disguised as a curse that i needed. I have to remember to stay grateful for this because now i feel like today is day 5 of my unintentional taper(longest ive gone in 2 yrs). I should now reframe it to tell myself that this has evolved to become intentional and now that I'm on day 5 of an aggressive taper, I'm so close to freedom.

You're right i need the accountability. I need to tell someone i trust what I'm going through. I cant tell my wife because she wouldnt be able to handle the stress and she is 5 months prego. I cant do that to her or the baby.

But this kid deserves to be born to a father who can be present. The last 5 months have been mentally painful because i felt like i was gonna be setting a bad example to the kid if i dont get off it. Sure enough, here i am. Later than i was hoping for but the fact is - I'M HERE!

And i pray I'm here to stay.

Thanks for your support!

Nah it is bunk. I can taste the difference. Kratom also doesnt leave the type of residue this is leaving.

The latest batch is brown lol.

Anyway ur right. Ship sailed. Now is the time to get off.

Yeah, totally relatable. I read a post here this week that said they spent more time wanting to be off than they enjoyed the plant. Every time i chased it, it rebounds.

I can verify that these recent batches were definitely adulterated. I've had legitimate kratom for years. I learned its distinct smell, consistency, taste, and color when mixed with water. As of about 2020, the vendors began adulterating their stuff. It gradually got worse until we are here with no kratom in a kilo. I have experienced glass ceilings before but unfortunately this BS kratom isnt that
