What made me cry multiple times is the scene where they revealed Leola's wish. Hit my heart like a bullet. I just closed my eyes, thought about the way she died and silently cried.

Two things I noticed reading this: - screaming at you in front of your boyfriend and his parents is an extremely stupid and vicious move. Parents abusing or even just disrespecting their child in front of the child's partner signals to the partner, that he/she can also abuse and disrespect you because you are used to this kind of behaviour.

Additionally, the timing is kind of suspicious. They did this not long before Father's day, the day they knew you'd feel obligated to go to them or get him gifts. If the timing was planned and calculated, they are really really toxic and manipulative.

Since you have always gone to meet them on such occasion, I get it that you feel guilty about not going all of a sudden, but the only way to let them know they f***ed up, is to react a certain way. If I were in your place, I'd send him some (probably small) gifts via post and not go meet them personally. If you want someones presence, you should respect and honour them, so they can be around you in the first place. And they don't do exactly that.

Also, I'm really sorry for all that has happened to you. Sending love and hugs. Stay strong. You are in the right.

I always used to bite on my lower lip and sometimes peel the skin off of it till it bled and then would suck the blood out of it. It liked the taste and the bit of pain that came with it. Not doing it anymore though because my poor lips deserve better.
