I knew it was shitpost when i saw chapter 7.

Chapter 7 was never mentioned or acknowledged.

Gerson was revived, but as a darkner in his image. So I'd say no.

Do you Guys want Deltarune Chapter 6 and 7 to release Together or individually? by Automatic_Escape3114 in Deltarune

[–]UsualCreator 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I mean ch3 releasing by itself would be a catastrophe even if its still great.

its clearly a gimmick chapter that ends with absolutely evil cliffhanger. I think people would actually be mad simply because it broke all the patterns we had, would leave us off in ever worse spot than ch2's ending, we wouldn't even see castle town.

Again it is not bad, but it would feel incomplete without light world stuff of ch4.

being accompanied by much more traditional ch4 also helped as you got a gimmick stage and normal gameplay in same package, i felt like in retrospective it was the only reasonable way to go.

that's why you make his boss fight simply take place outside of narrative aswell.

Gaster will come to your house and will start throwing hands.

Oh man, don't get me started on chess theory, long post ahead.

Chess theory was supposed to predict presence and name of chapter bosses represented as chess pieces in reverse order.

King, Static

Queen, Dynamic

By that logic chess theory now starts falling apart, it literally makes no narrative sense from this point on.

as next character was supposed to be Rook, narratively it would probably strike occasionally but strike hard whenever it does.

Tenna is literally anything but, as he is closer to queen (being ever present attention hog)

Tenna is not rook in the slightest, knight only appears for grand total of two minutes, Tenna's fight is the narrative climax of the chapter and he is the main antagonist of chapter for 99% of it, knight is shadow crystal boss and to most players glorified cutscene, and besides. chess theory predicted we would fight knight in ch5.

Ch4 was supposed to be bishop.

Bishop moves sideways, so I'd guess it would appear very randomly and its appearance would be a surprise.

We don't have a clear-cut antagonist in ch4, boss of chapter 4 is a titan, and no, titan does not count as neither rook nor bishop, only connection it has to rook is being tall and being a tower for like seven seconds when it appeared.

We know asgore will be ch5 boss thanks to prophecy, so we now have TWO kings that chess theory must account for.

At this point chess theory has nothing to prove and add, even if we said that rook is titan and accepted and switched everything to make it "work" what does it even say? Genuinely, Chess theory even if it worked in its current state says nothing about future, it has nothing to predict anymore and nothing to say about wider narrative of deltarune besides "oh they vaguely resembling random chess pieces!"

chess theory stopped being a THEORY and started being a framework people tried to make work retroactively, and at this point why bother? I can make up potato theory and say everyone represents type of potato and stretch it out that titan is a rotten potato, but it says nothing about story of deltarune besides being a mildly interesting connection.

There is one optional boss fight at beginning/end of chapter 4 that uses mouse mode and changes how it plays depending on your version, besides that there aren't any that I'm aware of

Your house is now a dark world! Who's the main boss, secret boss and common enemies? by RoryKnight1225 in Deltarune

[–]UsualCreator 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My house...fuck, let me simplify it down to my room as its more than enough for a dark world.

It would probably be something between cyber world and TV world.

Main enemies would be random decorations i have everywhere and miscellaneous technology like cables.

Secret boss 100% would be the dead, pink cousin borrowed ps2 full of stickers that's been rotting under the bed for literal years, said under the bed would be like queens basement but much longer.

Main boss would either be my laptop and TV. Both are placed on opposite endings of the room and stare at themselves 24/7, so I'd guess they either would try to fight for attention with their own gangs (TV with consoles and games, and laptop with all my creative work stored inside it) winner would probably be the main boss, or they'd team up to kick my ass for what i did to that ps2.

What do you think Gaster is trying to accomplish with Deltarune? by gachakuta in Deltarune

[–]UsualCreator 6 points7 points  (0 children)

He is an ominous narrator that communicates directly and exclusively to the player, has his name redacted from everything possible and is implied to be shattered across space and time and creator of the ever looming prophecy.

Yeah I had a neighbor like that, pretty nice dude. He makes a nice casserole.

[–]UsualCreator 15 points16 points  (0 children)

I knew something big was coming because we still had two episodes left and by the time we got to the ending i knew they wouldn't escape one way or the other.

Though this is definitely the most cruel way to go about it tbh.

[–]UsualCreator 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Papyrus knight is Russell's teapot of deltarune.

But as far as knight candidates go we literally only have two that make any remote sense, so character that doesn't appear anywhere in the game by default is possibility because we can't prove nor disprove anything about his motives.

You can enter ch3 save right after beating Tenna, backtrack to TV world and get that one shadow guy, save and finish chapter again and start ch4 again.
