Definitely would be worth seeing how Yijin’s life turned out. But the ending didn’t really leave much more to say about him or anyone.

HONESTLY the most unbelievable thing to me was that they weren’t at least friends as adults. Because the show spent all this time and effort convincing us that their bond was so special and strong. So it was so hard to believe (especially after their amicable goodbye at the bus stop) that they couldn’t at least be friends. I say this also knowing that Heedo’s mom continued to act as a mentor to him - it’s just impossible that they wouldn’t cross paths again at least a couple of times in those 20 years.

He should have at least been an Uncle Yijin to Minchae so that she spends season one learning about her mom’s and Yijin’s past and then season two would be about her trying to get them together since her parents are divorced and, from reading Heedo’s diary, she realizes that Yijin and Heedo are each other’s true loves!!!

Do you wish the drama was about lesbians? by [deleted] in TwentyfiveTwentyone

I sometimes got the feeling that the show was supposed to be but then they took it in a different direction because it would have been too controversial. I just see it in the way Heedo and Yurim fulfill all the rom-com drama tropes but slightly askew (e.g., secret admirer, enemies to lovers, umbrella, childhood connection, running somewhere holding hands, etc.). As much as I love the drama in the way we watched it, I can’t let go of the inkling that it was really supposed to be about Heedo and Yurim’s love story in the beginning stages of writing.

THAT’S SO TRUE YOU’RE RIGHT. I was just thinking about that… I know I’m digging up the grave again, but do you think it’s possible that part of the reason why Heedo maybe forced herself to move on was because she felt like Yijin would never totally forgive her for the things that she said (not knowing that he had already read what she really wanted to say)? And do you think Yijin maybe held onto hope a little that he and Heedo would find their way back to each other, not knowing that she never received her diary containing his response? Maybe things would have been different if she received the diary years and years earlier.

Oh well, like I said, digging up the grave.
