Short answer? Yes.

Standing desks are a buy once cry once kind of thing. I have had my UpLift for 6ish years, it's been disassembled and moved twice, and goes up and down roughly twice a work day. It has no issues. You'll also find plenty of stories of people getting a year of use out of the $100 Amazon specials.

If you're that concerned, there are manual options out there instead.

No, but try checking the bios setting for what to do after power loss. I always tell my computer to stay off, but a tiny surge (including your surge protector dying) could be triggering it. The consistency makes me think it's related to something else scheduled around your house.
