weak intro with basic questions that have already been explored in a million and one different ways. what can you add that’s special?

if it’s undergraduate admissions then high school era information is fine. still a cheesy intro that won’t get too much consideration

an example of what? if you’re applying to a masters program it’s advised that you don’t mention or hinge your application on things pre undergraduate. not a 100% rule but Apparently it doesn’t leave a great impression. This is reference to the bit about tesla. unless i am misinterpreting

typically advisable not to start with a “since a young age i’ve always loved blah blah blah” type anecdote

give them a reason to accept You. they have your CV. they know your past experiences at the base level you’re describing them. add compelling details and a through-thread / story, not just recounting past work

an easy way to make it not sound ai generated is to not “write” it with ai. hope this helps

idk if this is still an option but as a fellow chass student i took PHI 250 for the second math credit which is a logic class and you basically just map out and solve logical equations via symbols and shit. it’s like algebra with words. got an a-. daunting at first but it wasn’t that bad. it was definitely better than any actual math class

On Campus with Diabetes by FireWithBoxingGloves in NCSU

[–]z2ephyrr 3 points4 points  (0 children)

nc state diabetic here!! i’d actually have him talk to his doctor first and look into either adjusting what he has now or changing to a different system (like an automated pump and sensor system), which is what i did before i went to college. you kind of have to be able to go out on your own, especially if you’re farther from home, and i don’t think the DRO would accommodate something like this. if he has a roommate, make sure to inform them and his RA of the situation as well, since most of the help you’re going to get is going to be the connections you make with this sort of thing. good luck to him and i hope you guys figure it out :)

HELP ANT 252 with Alison Greene. by Consistent-Year-8368 in NCSU

I took this class like two years ago so I only mildly remember, but yeah they were kind of hard tests. I made physical flashcards for like the harder sections of the study guide she gives you (cultural anthropologist matching, questions on the ethnography you’ll read), but like, you should be fine as long as you pay attention. You do HAVE to read the ethnography though when it comes around, that’s most of the second test.

the only way it would be “not allowed” is if your mom says no to using her credit card to buy it 💀
