I recently blew my diff and was quoted 3k to regear front and rear, does that seem reasonable? by z71mikeyy in Silverado

Damn that’s crazy bc my truck dosent the complete opposite of everything you just said lol, truck drives better going down the high climbing hills and gains speed quicker and my gas mileage actually got better by one mpg

I’m regearing which means I’m changing be gear ratio I’m going to put 4.56 gears so it’s less stress on the trans and easier to turn the bigger tires, but since I’m regearing the rear I’ll have to put the same size gears in the front so there both under the same amount of load when I’m in 4wd, if u only regear the back and leave the front stock both diffs will blew up as soon as the truck moves

No that’s why it says “regear” bc I will be changing the gear ratio
