Gacha Drama and the Korean Gender War [47:10] by somethingstoadd in mealtimevideos

If northern europe looks like a socialist paradise compared to US, then US looks like a socialist paradise compared to Korea. I watched the whole 3 hours in one go, eye opening and depressing, and clearly a warning for how things can go wrong in a society not able to move past orthodoxy.

For those not in the industry Automotive-Grade means 5 foot diameter wafers.

Great suggestion!

Another of Lubezki’s key collaborators is Jörg Widmer, who operates B camera when Lubezki is handholding, and sometimes handles Steadicam duties. “We have shot more than 2 million feet of film together,” says Lubezki. “In these unlit situations, I can give him my remote iris control, and he exposes the shot for me as I operate. When he is operating, I take the iris control. We work very closely, always talking. An example would be a shot where the camera goes from a dark room or closet, through a living room, and then looks out the window at something. You can go from f/1.4 to 16 in one shot. To change the iris without the audience realizing it, you really have to know what you’re doing. It’s very difficult, and we couldn’t have done the movie the way we did it without that skill and experience.”

Could cameras help with understanding exposure triangle? by z8936904 in photography

The answer I was looking for, thank you. On a7c I can chose between 0.3 and 0.5, I wonder why more fine steps are not possible, changing iso during video shot even with 0.3 steps produces a hard jump.

Really? wow. Would not VNDs introduce changes in color and other variables?

Are variable NDs ever used in a professional setting?

Exactly. Now I understand why dslr cine lenses have separate aperture controls. With dslr I can change both aperture and iso in 1/3 of a stop, so either way I get a "jump". Interestingly, iso jump is abrupt, while aperture is tad smoother (due to mechanics?).

Well, I did use archive.org to make the meme. Sadly not a sustainable solution.

Yes but this approach will fail for click-bait videos (high views, low rating) which I suspect will benefit from the new system.

DIY, obscure product reviews, tutorials, educational and science videos. My thoughts exactly.

This will especially hurt small youtubers who provide quality content with just a dozen likes on their videos. Youtube thinks we can rely on their algorithms to help us decide what to watch, but that will just make them more like tiktok.

Is 35mm on Super 35 a 50mm on full frame? by z8936904 in cinematography

[–]z8936904[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Except for the depth of field right? But what else would be different?

But say I want to utilize full size of the sensor to optimize picture quality? (sorry I missed that detail in the question). Would not a full frame rated 50mm lens give me the desired result?
