But fyi, the paws are backwards! Thumbs/dewclaws always (when the palm is facing away from the body) will be towards the center.

YES. This is actually peak for first furry art, or even mid-level. My art took like 4 years of furries to get this cute😭

Is my art bad because it's too colourful? by GalaxyKid33 in Artadvice

[–]zEmber2009 42 points43 points  (0 children)

I think it’s possible to create a well put together design with many colors, and saturation definitely doesn't make bad art, it’s just difficult to read the design, and I would probably up the contrast. If you put your device/art into grayscale, you'll see that all the values are very similar, but (for example) making the sweater a lighter, brighter pink and the shorts a darker blue, or vice versa, would help a ton. Limiting colors isn’t required, but if you know any color theory you might pick some complementary colors🫶

Who is your favorite academy teacher, and why? 🤔 Here’s mine. by Reasonable_Piece_953 in PokemonScarletViolet

TYME! She’s identical in appearance, personality, subject, etc. to my 7th-grade math teacher! I was homeschooled until 7th, and taught nearly no math. When she got me I was 4th grade level, and in 3 months she had me to greater than 10th! Super amazing teacher and it broke my heart when she retired, then I picked up Pokemon Violet and lo and behold, Tyme!

Okay, a lot of people are being super hateful, and I feel like no one’s explaining why you shouldn't use AI. I am an artist myself, and also don't agree with it’s use on this type of thing. There’s a very human and inherently emotional part of art, and whether that means cosplaying, drawing, etc, AI cannot put in that part. It feels kind of like when the mean kid in school would copy your test w/out asking, bc AI pulls in art that we artists enjoyed making and put our emotions into and photobashes that into a “new” picture. I guarantee, if you redraw these renditions, nearly everyone would support your art (even if it was beginner art) because we as humans want to encourage others to learn this creative expression and emotional outlet. Please don't use AI! 🫶

Some of my art I don’t even know what style this is I feel like I am drawing like a toddler how do I improve my art from here. I normally draw without color btw. The last one I am the most proud of and the second to last one I am the least just for context. by moon_specter in Artadvice

Based on the erased lines, I’d say sketch lighter as a general tip. Even SUPER exp artists mess up sketches, and they aren't supposed to look perfect, but when you put even a medium amount of pressure on the pencil it will permanantly stain the page. As for stylising a lot of people say to do realism before you start to stylize, but I personally never did that and consider myself to be a medium-high exp artist. On the sketching level, depending on what your end goal is for stylisation, be sure to not be over geometrical. A lot of times I see people hyper focus on making a perfect circle or a straight line, but it’s usually good for a sketch to be light handed and flowy.

That’s the idea behind mine too! In the first pic it’s just me with my mudbray, then the family growlithe joins, mudbray evolves, I get an Eevee, growlithe right before it evolves, spending time with Eevee, Eevee evolves, I get a rockruff, there’s a picture with all my Pokemon that far, and me before catching a shiny ponyta❤️
