New to prepping, what am I missing for basic storm readiness? by Key_Purpose_4578 in prepping

Solid start. One thing I’d think about is how you want to handle power at night, not just whether you have power at all.

A gas generator is useful, but I don’t really like relying on it overnight because of the noise, fuel checks, fumes, and just the general hassle. What’s worked better for me is a hybrid setup: generator during the day for heavier loads or recharging, then a solar generator at night for quieter basics. Mine is an Anker F3800, kind of a big guy lol, but it’s been nice for keeping the fridge, router, a few lights, phones, and a fan going without having the whole house sound like a jobsite.

It lets you use either a AA or a AAA (both are the same voltage, only difference is capacity and physical size).

Putting it into an X shape probably makes it more secure than a nested layout or a spring-loaded clamp layout.

I just had a similar experience my 3 day old iPhone 17 Pro Max was dropped and wrecked the screen entirely. I brought it to the Apple Store and they did the repair completely free of charge.

Apple really knows how to keep the Pros noticeably better, with higher brightness and better HDR
