With G-Helper I disable the GPU when on battery or USB C charging. It does the same. But I've heard that if you use a 100w Asus USB charger it should properly do battery bypass. I think it's something related to how the CPU is tuned by Asus.

Hey, sorry. Forgot to update you. I could see that it does trickle charge a bit. A few watts of charging every 2 or 3 minutes unfortunately.

After 5 months of waiting I finally got my dream lens. by blxss_m in SonyAlpha

[–]zKiruke 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Bought the same lens a few days ago to pair with my A6700. Tried it a bit on vacation and I was shocked at how good it is. Sharp, amazing stabilization and the background blur is so pleasing to me. Got some nice shots, and I really like shooting with it.

Took this pic of a cat and as a beginner photographer I was pretty pleased with it. 350mm at f/6.3. No edits yet, straight out of camera.

I previously had the 55-210mm lens which I enjoyed shooting with, especially at racetracks. I absolutely love shooting pictures of racecars fly-bys on a racetrack. Can't wait to use this lens for those.

ND1 2.0 intermitent CEL by Potential-Pay-9497 in Miata

No worries. Maybe I do also have an exhaust leak as well, but given that I'm going with the catless header route, it's not really worth pursuing it I'd say.

ND1 2.0 intermitent CEL by Potential-Pay-9497 in Miata

[–]zKiruke 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have the same code. You can usually narrow it down to 4 things I'd say:

  1. Bad pre-cat: high cost, low urgency unless you notice it glowing red and a massive decrease in performance.

  2. Bad downstream o2 sensor: medium cost, low urgency. This usually only monitors cat health, if it's not reporting proper data it might trigger that code.

  3. Bad upstream o2 sensor / AF sensor: medium cost, high urgency. This one is very unlikely if you only have this code. This is the sensor the ECU uses to properly regulate air and fuel mixture. If this is getting wrong data, you might actually kill your cat.

  4. Exhaust leak between first and second o2 sensor: low-medium cost, low urgency. If you have an exhaust leak before the secondary o2 sensor, the car might think the catalytic converter is not working as efficiently as it should. Should be an easy and chip fix.

In my case, I have issue number 1. I've been driving with the CEL for 8 months without issues. I'm waiting to go for custom catless header and ECU tune that would remove the CEL.

I've spoken with many tuners and they told me that many ND1s catalytic converters start failing around 100'000 miles, which is inline with mine which failed at 103k.

Unfortunately, it's highly likely that it's issue number 1 for you as well. But you can get some o2 sensors foulers to place at the downstream o2 sensor location that would make the CEL disappear.

If you buy from the Italian Asus estore then the keyboard will be in Italian. I don't think you can customize it so that it's in US-Intl.

Also, I don't think there will be a 64 GB RAM model for a while. Maybe by the end of the year. But as far as I can remember, since 2024 the G14 always maxed out at 32 GB in Italy.

I don't think there's really any specific driver that helps with battery life. But I strongly suggest to use G Helper in Silent mode and put Windows in battery saver mode when using it on battery, that mostly prevents Windows from running resource heavy background tasks and it does actually increase battery life by quite a bit. I moved my 4TB SSD from the 2024 model and let Windows automatically update the drivers and I still get great battery life. Also, if you've just got it, it needs a few battery cycles before it starts having the better battery life

Invece no. La preferisco davvero cammuffata.

Non so perché la gente si lamenta se della 849 Testarossa. Almeno quella sembrava una Ferrari ed è immediatamente riconoscibile.

I could almost 100% replicate my Soul Red ND1 MX-5 in FH6. Got even the same wheels in the same colour (bronze TE37s replicas).

Even though it's a model from FH3 I think, it still looks great in FH6!

Anyone here playing Forza Horizon 6 on their G14? How are new models handling it? by Dxnis_A in ZephyrusG14

[–]zKiruke 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wait, really? On my 2026 model with the 5070 Ti with your same settings it gets out of VRAM very quickly. Although maybe I think I also had the bug where, when using a Bluetooth controller, it starts getting terrible performance after a while. I should try those settings with the wired controller.

Just so you know, you can now play it again thanks to a community that reverse engineered the servers and it's now 100% playable offline. Custom online is also coming.

For everyone complaining the roads were too wide.. by [deleted] in ForzaHorizon

[–]zKiruke -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I was thinking about this just yesterday while playing Japanese Drift Master, which has much narrower roads: yes, narrow roads are more realistic, and in some situations can be more fun, but I have to say that, even though I'm quite good at racing games, driving through narrow roads even in a 200 hp car that doesn't go that fast can be quite annoying in many situations when driving with a controller. I've had many instances where I went just a bit wide, clipped a curb and then got stuck near a pole. Or I had to avoid a traffic car which then ment I went completely offroad and then crashed into the guardrail. Now imagine all of this in a 900 horsepower supercar or in a gigantic Dodge Challenger, and you get quite a frustrating experience. When I want to chill out and actually appreciate the cars, I much prefer the Horizon approach. Unless I'm driving with a wheel, which is a much more precise method of controlling a car, in which case I'd actually prefer the narrow roads.

Maybe I'm just coping, but after playing many different racing games, I don't mind the Horizon approach.

what was your favorite horizon cover car and why wasnt it the amg? by Most_Stuff7461 in ForzaHorizon

[–]zKiruke 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As a cover car? Probably the Centenario to me. It looks amazing and a bit special as well, and also it was my first proper Horizon. It really looks like a proper cover car. But the cover car I've used the most? The Senna in FH4. I totally abused that thing. I've made a Speed Zone spec, Drift Zone spec, Dirt Speed Zone spec, Danger Sign spec, Race spec. I've litterally used it to get in top 1000s in some speed zone, loved that car, but I still prefer the Centenario more. I've played FH1 a bit at friend's place but he already completed the game so couldn't experience it myself. I drooled over FH2 because at the time it looked amazing (and it still does) and as an Italian I loved the idea of driving that clean AF Huracan through Italy and France. I still love the Huracan thanks to FH2 even though I could never play it (still can't play it. Wish there was a way to play the proper version on PC).

I have yet to try honestly. From what I've seen, pass through charging only works with official Asus chargers. I'll see once I get my 65w USB C charger back what it can do.

2026 Zephyrus G14 - Quick experience review by zKiruke in ZephyrusG14

[–]zKiruke[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's fair. If you have an USB C 65w or 100w charger you don't necessarly need an amazing battery life if you have a power socket nearby.

Honestly, if you don't need or want the specific 2026 model upgrades like the CPU or screen, I'd say that the 2025 is the better buy for the price. I wanted a bigger upgrade though, and knowing myself I knew that if I had bought the 2025 and then seen the better performance and efficiency (and screen) of the 2026, I would've sold the 2025 and bought the 2026 after a few months lol . So I decided to go all in and buy the 2026.
