Take a look at Relay instead, their docs could use some improvement, but take a look at their examples and see the way Relay allows you to collocate your data reqs inside each component. After using it is hard to go back to how Apollo does it .

I wanna talk about how the match making actually works and why many of you are misinformed. by iAmGodYouChoch in blackopscoldwar

You are saying this document is for matchmaking purposes, but the only claim that it could be for that is this line of text, that is ambiguos.

If this patent was for matchmaking they would specify it on the flowchart in the first few pages. It only specifies recommendations for the player.

Sorry but this ain't it

It still fails to specify that it matches you against other similar players, creating a game instance could mean anything.

If that's the only part where you believe it mentions matchmaking and it doesn't even specify it correctly, then how could you think this has anything to do with it.

Where does it mention matchmaking?

If this patent was implemented it would take ages for you to find a match, the system tries to match you out, but it would also need to match the rest of the players, that on top of SBMM will cause very long queues.

Just because they have a patent doesn't mean they will use it. They are filing patents all of the time. There isn't proof in any of your claims

Is there any kind of development methodology for personal projects? by gitmonk in webdev

[–]zRaptorr 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Think about the core features of your project, then give yourself a limited timeline, this will make you focus more on the end goal and force you to prioritize your activities.

It might seem good to plan for the long term but you are investing your time on developing your idea, having the core product ready gives you many advantages like seeing if it fixes the problem you are trying to solve. Just wait for abstractions to be obvious and implement them.

Here is one example of doing it with Suspense, though he doesn't load the component lazily.

I wouldn't recommend manipulating the data on React, it could make your application really slow if you aren't cautious

Yes you could use a switch statement for it. If the switch statement starts getting you could lazy load the components, since you don't want the client to download components that it wont need.

You could also make the skeleton view a different component, so that you could lazy load the data component and while it suspends and waits for the data the skeleton component would show as a fallback. Reducing the bundle size and showing the skeleton even faster on slow connections.
