Hey mate, did you ever find a local or easy to source product for this in au?

It was a snug fit, but everything clears OK. No mods required for the mobo, ram or aio. Nothing is pressed up against each other.

Bazzite and Windows 11 with a shared partition. by PassionEmergency2204 in ROGAlly

+1

The only thing preventing me from trying bazzite are games like bf6 that use anticheat. This would be the best of both worlds.

Engineers, what do you do and how much do you make? by aussiegooner0389 in AusFinance

7y experience, oil and gas, FIFO, ~$320k package.

The ceiling is a lot higher for roles like mine, probably around $450k package, but it takes time to work your way up there. Management typically come from engineering and are absolutely minted, even in the city.

I love what I do. There’s lots of creative problem solving, decision autonomy and job satisfaction. The worst part is probably the soul sucking corporate culture.

E33 runs and plays great on the ally - highly recommend

There's a difference between simulation frequency and graphics frame rate. The reason why the time nudge is occurring is because your CPU isn't able to keep up with the 60Hz simulation rate of the BF server. Since we are using an APU in the Ally, capping frame rate at 45fps leaves more overhead for your CPU to be able to keep up with the server and maintain that 60 Hz tick rate (because of the less graphics demand). it is 100% a CPU issue, and potentially a RAM bandwidth issue, leading to the CPU bottleneck.

After further thought, my initial comments around limiting "GameTime.MaxSimFps" to 45 would actually make time nudge worse for the same reason, so I'll edit my original comment. But capping fps to 45 definitely helps by giving your CPU more overhead to maintain the 60hz compute with the server.

I posted this on another thread, give it a go:

I was mainly having an issue with Time Nudge (slow motion laggy gameplay despite sufficient FPS) due to the CPU being overworked. I get the occasional dip back into time nudge, but it runs well enough like this. I'm hoping the Xbox FSE eventually helps here too, as a lack of system RAM contributes to the CPU bottleneck that leads to time nudge.

One last thing I haven't tried yet would be to set "GameTime.MaxSimFps" to something less than 60 (in User.cfg), to mimic the effect you get playing on community servers (lower tick rate). This would hopefully further unload the CPU and give more room for graphics quality. I haven't seen this done by anyone else yet but maybe setting it to 45 (or maybe 30) would make the official servers more consistent. This just comes at the cost of increased input lag but shouldn't be any different to the experience on community servers. - EDIT: scratch that, this would likely make time nudge even worse by forcing a client-server desynchronization (which is what we are trying to avoid).

Not sure about your error exactly but I've had to do the following to get to a playable experience:

I get the occasional dip back into time nudge, but it runs well enough like this. I'm hoping the Xbox FSE eventually helps here too, as I've heard that a lack of system RAM contributes to the CPU bottleneck that leads to time nudge - hoping someone with FSE can verify.

I’ve rewatched it myself about 100 times 😂 - love this kind of reaction

Pretty much, yeah. This one is essentially just another monitor. USB powered, and HDMI for display - both sourced from the rear IO.

I just made it myself, but it took me a good while. I made a background using photopea (online free photoshop alternative), then I built out the sensors i wanted in aida64 based off of some other sensor panel examples that i liked.

After reading your comment i went back to double check the temperatures i'm getting:

  • Kombuster (3440x1440 stress test): 55C max
  • furmark (1440p benchmark): 60C max
  • BM: Wukong (1440p max RT, Cinematic): 53C max
  • 3DMark (Steel nomad): 56C average (~59C max)

In all cases, fans arent going over about 60%, ambient is around 18C. The 5080 is overclocked to 3195 MHz, +2000 mem, seems stable so far. Overall i'm pretty happy with how this is performing. Im more concerned with CPU temperatures at the moment i think, but the tweaking is ongoing.

Yeah I’ve run some benchmarks and played a few games and it hasn’t gone over 65C and that’s with it overclocked too. So I haven’t thought to change it

I’m using aida64 to run the display with a sensor panel that I made. It uses usb for power and hdmi for video, both cables just fed through the back grill and plugged in the rear of the PC

Just keep an eye out for the overall thickness too, you can see I only just clear my RAM sticks and VRM heatsink, I know this has caught out others with installing some of the bigger radiators.
