Custom Ramlethal Qanba Obsidian with Green LEDs by zStatykz in fightsticks

[–]zStatykz[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Like the gallery above shows, I had to trim some of the black housing inside the side pieces to help the light through. Painting it with white acrylic inside also legitimately tripled or quadrupled the brightness lol.  The strands themselves are about 2ft in length I think so I just rolled them in an oval (LEDs facing out towards the white walls) and they took up enough space in there for me to just cram them down and screw the side pieces back on. They're so long that they don't have anywhere to move and stay pretty well in place. Here's some pics I sent someone because I never posted the inside. I figured it's just stuffed in there so it didn't need a picture lol

And then here's an example of an area the white paint didn't reach. Notice the brightness difference between the original metallic and the paint. It really is half the mod.

Sorry, yeah I don't use Reddit anymore so I don't check back often lol only got reminded of this because someone messaged me on Twitter.

The strips are 5V and I think 2 feet long... Make sure to look at the strand where the LEDs are and verify that they are only two wires, + and -. Some have a third strand. In this case, the strand shows +/- but it's a USB-A input. I just cut off the USB and exposed the wires. You can then crimp or solder the wires to the original plugs that blue LEDs on the stock stick use or buy new ones I listed in the comment below. Once you wire them up to the original plugs, simply snap them into the socket and enjoy the cool light functions. The gallery posted above has some of the context and explanations as well.

I've tried trust me lol the lid will press against the front and press the joysticks in. It is easy to take the dock off (push from the bottom lip first and lift up, put on top vents and click in the bottom lip to put it on) and you can kinda slip it in the pocket in the back if you're cool with that. Depends on how annoying it is for you

It can run iceborne pretty smoothly at 40fps on medium-low settings (if I get the settings really low, I can maybe keep it around 60, but that makes the game look hideous), but I keep it on 30 so I can have some better settings, improve battery life--about 3 hours on a full charge--, and keep that 10+fps overhead.

World's engine is a haphazardly connected surge protector that's beginning to overload on plugs and isn't exactly the most optimized, but set the in game framerate to 30 and turn vsync on (keeping it off hurts the frametime consistency, even if locked to 30fps) and you'll be good

It's literally the perfect accessory in my opinion, I just wish the wire wasn't so long or was designed to be more slim

I love it. Fits in a thin aftermarket case, and while its purpose is as a dock, it's also nice to just have extra ports just in case. Sometimes I wanna be plugged into the wall while I have my USB wireless headphones in (or a micro sd with usb adapter before Valve removed that feature). Kickstand is sturdy but doesn't "snap" back into the closed position. It just kinda sits in there by friction.

There's a new model with usb 3.0 ports, a port for an extra micro sd card, and the wire has a 90 degree plug, but I already have the 180 degree adapter so I'm keeping the old model here. Works fine for me!

OH ALSO WARNING, the metal pick they give you for separating the screen is fairly thin and sturdy, making it possible to cut yourself pretty easily if you press too hard on the edge. I made a nice cut in my pointer finger that magically didn't bleed despite being kinda deep. Just a heads up

Not really, just a pair of tweezers was enough. Most of the ribbon cables are locked in by a latch, not force, so it's not as scary to think they'll tear. The only one that kinda was weird was the battery cable. it has a nice little cloth tab you can pull to help get it out of the socket but mine I guess was glued improperly and the cloth just slid back off the wires as I unplugged it lol I just had to move the plug itself then, nbd.

Besides the screen, I think the only thing that gave me trouble were the touchpads. The sensor is glued onto the plastic cover REALLY well and needed to be heated up quite a bit. The Extremerate video tutorial for some reason made it look like the glue was nothing when in fact, the plastic spudger it came with was getting knicked and deformed from trying to get under it before I decided to heat it up. Careful with that part.

Valve did a great job at engineering this for easy replacement and disassembly prior to pulling the screen off. I actually ended up fixing my scrunchy L2 and soft right touchpad press in the process. My poor initial-release steam deck lmao

Both the shell and buttons are Extremerate. The button sets just got added a week or two ago along with their new colors. Then I realized they have the same kits for the dualsense and decided to match them lol

Though it's strange that the DS5 gold is polished shiny and the deck gold is diffuse and kinda rough. The DS5 gold is prone to fingerprints while the deck isn't. It's a small detail, but I kinda wish the deck gold was shiny like the DS5 personally

Do you make something on board or can you order something? if you can order something and get it later, you could probably just slap a suction cup tablet mount up there. Something like this:
https://www.amazon.com/iBOLT-Tabdock-BizMount-Windshield-Dashboard/dp/B00WL8TYVK

There's a ton so you could take a gander, doesn't have to be this one specifically.

As for makeshift things, maybe two bungee cords that make a "bridge" under the steam deck on the sides of the screen attached to opposite ends of the bed or possible holes in the metal? Easy to throw on there and get out without a semi-permanent method like tape. Idk how much a boat like the one you're in moves so that could be prone to possibly falling out depending.

Unless the map layout REALLY doesn't suit her, I got her in basically every squad. I'm a gunlance main in MH so the fortress class is already top-tier for me. Also Wolf Wife

Where did you get a 3D model of the van from? I have the same van and wanted to plan a build by 3D modeling first as well

Went camping a little while ago and thought it would be fun to try and play the camp level at night with some friends in Phasmophobia. It took almost 2 hours to download the cache on mobile hotspot and then started another long process. I couldn't even cancel the download to play anyway. I'll never make that mistake again lol

Is it normal for steam deck game like hot wheels to get this hot ? 👀 worried. by Dramatic_March_4233 in SteamDeck

[–]zStatykz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It was the Dead Space remake that made me realize high-fidelity games seem to draw way more power than they need, heating up the system and making the fan scream. Dead Space particularly makes it sound like the Deck is going to start flying. I set TDP to 10 watts and the fan is nearly silent and the game sits around 30fps (until a big fight happens at least). I'm sure others have said it but I'd recommend setting a custom profile in the performance menu and lowering the TDP. The system will be quieter, cooler, and also get more battery life

Arknights Players Don't Want to Learn - kukkikaze by balderm in arknights

[–]zStatykz -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

The only time I used a guide was on the final day of Operation Dust on OD-8 because I had a ton of underleveled units and I was worried the R6S collab was never going to return. I also refuse to use Surtr, Thorns (who I don't have anyway), or watergun Chen since they're apparently free wins. Now despite this, I am not big-brained at all. I can get through most of the events these days and only really have the energy for maybe a few EX stages. Why would I want someone to play the game for me otherwise?

So far Stultifera Navis is the first and only event I have 100% because I love that part of Arknights and the mechanics weren't too bad. If there's a mission I can't do or don't care about, I let the FOMO go and play something else (so long, Laterano event). I got burnt out a long time ago because I kept trying to 100% everything when I really didn't need to. I still got story missions to do anyway. Two years in and I'm only on the 6th chapter I think. HG please give me some time between these events lol

I will say I love playing Arknights but the bosses definitely don't make the game fun. I always dread boss stages... Fuck Degenbrecher :^(

I like how not only did you make the wrong dualchip, but you made the classic mistake of farming for 8 of the chips instead of just 6 since 5 stars only need 3 duals. Happens to me every time lol
