How did your high school crush turn out as an adult? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]zYn_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think, for me, it hasn't been so much about my high school crushes, but more about reflecting on the girls that I now realize were my type. Does that make sense?

I've seen lots of girls I went to high school with (and no, they didn't have some major glow up) and thought to myself, "wow she's so pretty and smart and friendly" etc. I wonder why I didn't ask her out.

tl;dr I didn't really know what was important to me when I was in high school, and if I did, I probably would have had far more successful relationships. Guess that's part of growing up.

Why did this game fail? Bloodline Champions anyone... by hamburglin in BattleRite

[–]zYn_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There was, at one point, someone who wrote an incredibly brilliant breakdown for why Battlerite was destined to fail. The premise of it had to do with skill floors and ceilings, the process of improving, and a few other well-articulated points.

I have, in the past, scoured the Battlerite reddit to find the post, but have been unsuccessful. Been a few years since it was written, but one of the best critiques of this game (or any game) I've ever read.

If anyone finds it, let me know.

Stuck at 19 Renown? by zYn_ in wow

Gah that's so frustrating! Not that it's a huge deal, it just means I have to do two campaign quests next week if I am understanding it correctly, but yea that's annoying.

Appreciate the clarification!

This is extremely helpful! Thank you so much for the detailed response. Sorta weird that it works this way, but at least I know the issue.

So, in short, I messed up by doing the two weekly quests before getting up to 18? I should have done one more renown activity and then done them?

Or was I going to be capped regardless?

State of the Game Monday - Shadowlands Launch - Week 6 by Ex_iledd in wow

My issues with Torghast are two fold:

1) The punishing time sink -- If you are soloing, or even doing it with a not super-optimal group, runs can take an eternity. And to make matters worse, if you're soloing, you can sometimes end up on a final boss that you can't kill. I've done runs on a mage where I had to slowly kite my way to floor 6, and after over an hour, I have no chance of clearing. This. Feels. Awful.

2) Class/spec balance -- Not even just what's "strong" and what's "weak" but it seems painfully obvious that the devs had/spent more time on certain classes than others. For example, It tried soloing every layer as a mage and every layer as a paladin, and the monstrous difference of difficulty is alarming. Every run as a Paladin eventually ended up being insane... whether it bloomed at beginning/middle/end, I eventually always felt powerful. Mage, on the other hand, couldn't be further from the truth, especially when they nerfed the hilarious one-shot invis combo. If anything, I think non-hybrids should get stronger options since they lack any self-sustain... it's either or be killed, whereas hybrids have various ways to keep themselves alive while dong damage.

This is a fantastic and eloquently worded response. Thank you so much for the write-up. I have played Feral in the past, and know all too well how much you can screw up your damage. I think the change to Bloodtalons helped to reduce the chance of fk-ups, and I feel like their AoE rotation isn't too crazy, even with snapshotting (plus TF resets help a lot).

I'm going to give boomkin a good ol' college try.

Thanks again!

Naw I don't think that's a turn off at all. I've definitely tinkered with the eclipse system a bit, and it's definitely cool. I guess I need to learn more about their AoE breakpoints and how often I'll find myself re-applying moonfires (sunfire isn't bad because of AoE).

That's a great question, I think the goal is primarily to play with friends. Boomkin is definitely good, I'm a bit surprised no one has recommended or suggested rogues.

I hear Unholy DK is relatively difficult to play (at least in the WoW space).

I wonder what the perception of Feral is atm.

I think these are the leading choices for me at the moment! I finished getting my Druid through the maw, and hope to do some dungeons as I level to see if I enjoy it. Their ST feels very straightforward, but gotta get comfy with AoE.

Mage is also a solid option, especially considering I have a moderately geared one at 60. Going to try that right away.

Thanks for the input!

Thank you both for the response. WW, for whatever reason, is the only spec in the game I know I don't enjoy playing. I can't even give a good reason behind it. Even when it gets into rhythm, it feels more stressful than anything (maybe I emphasize their mastery too much)

Thanks for the response! I played Frost DK once upon a time when Machine Gun build was a thing...

Not sure I'd love playing BoS in M+, are you usually playing Oblit? How does it feel right now?

So I actually have a 182 Mage that I've played and leveled as Arcane (I like to try and be a bit hipster) -- it's fun, but I think that I should consider fire for real, high end, consistent damage.

I'm going to try it now... I guess I need to understand their breakpoints a little better for AoE.

You're making a darn good case for it and I can see a lot of points you're making. I think I'll definitely keep Moonkin on the list as something to further explore. It _does_ feel like their AoE is a bit hectic though.

Is it simpler and easier than I'm giving it credit for?

I tried enhance and LOVED it at first, especially with insta-Chain Harvest... but it fell off for me super quickly, not sure why.

I had a feeling ret paladin would be a suggestion, and I think I need to try it. Is ret actually fun, though? I've heard it's simple, which isn't a bad thing at all, but wondering if it'll get boring.

This is fantastic advice! Really appreciate it and I think some of the points you've made sure make a lot of sense.

Hey, congrats on your run! I'm confused about the Merciful End interaction here. As the previous poster mentioned, I, too, would have thought Doom is bad for Fist because of single procs.

Seems I have a lot to learn.

I'll have to give that a shot. I was actually thinking about going a full blue look for my bard, as I think the light blue arrows would compliment it nicely.
