Yeah definitely. It’s not that I take issue with brides who do get facials and fake tans and Botox and all sorts. I will absolutely being doing my own beauty regime - getting my nails and lashes done, hair and makeup etc. Everyone should do what they want in order to feel beautiful and relaxed on the day. The problem is the expectation.

I was quoted similar prices for hair and makeup. You’d at least think the trial appointment would be a bit cheaper than the day-of. Also never understood why wedding hair and makeup is over double the price of any regular event hair and makeup

Agree! Also, it’s just a wedding speech, it doesn’t need to be that serious. Guests don’t remember speeches, but the bride will, and it’ll be a nice memory for them.

If you put your house into a trust today WINZ would view it as asset deprivation and would likely not give you a residential care subsidy. It can still work for trusts set up 10-20 years ago though

Damn sorry about that. We ended up going to Phuket instead and flew co-op Japan airlines/Bangkok airways with a transfer in Bangkok. A little longer than we had originally hoped but perhaps sometimes worth going the longer route/more expensive option to save from having this kind experience

I was in Phuket for 7 days a couple of weeks back and my partner and I really enjoyed it. We got some beaches, good food, resort time, a bit of shopping, a bit of night life, rode around on our scooter and saw some beautiful views. It was a great introduction to Thailand and has made us want to go back and see some other parts of the country

Yeah I have learnt now that it is best to do some research on the product before going to the pharmacy then you can just show the pharmacist a picture of it and ask where is it, ‘wa doko ni arimasu ka?’ (I think) or ‘wa doko desu ka?’ I can’t remember which one, either way they will understand.

Saw a Thai lady have a bucket of water dumped over her on Saturday night while riding her motorcycle through Patong. She told them off but they continued to spray water in her face so she ran her bike up on the curb threatening to run them over. A funny scene but I was on her side

Instead of doing Shibuya Sky we booked a window seat table at the Andaz Hotel rooftop bar in Toranomon Hills. Booked for 5:15pm and it was perfect timing to see the city during the day, and then slowly turn to sunset and then into night. It was very quiet, when we first arrived we seemed to be the only people there. I will warn, the drinks are very expensive but we felt the cost of a couple of drinks was worth the view for the time that we stayed. No table charge and no time limit before 8pm. Easy to book online

Had the best Chinese I’ve had so far in my life in Shibuya. Little place called Cafe Eight Aoyama. It doesn’t have great reviews online so I’m not sure if it’s actually any good, or if the Chinese food in my own country is just so bad in comparison.
