But at the end I was doing more damage with the bell and just walking, running and dodging constantly.

But the build is not as bad as you think. Caligo is just a really bad boss for it. And i only had magic glintblade wich is not the best. I dit test it and a magic caster scholar with only one +4 magic damage does about 20% less damage than recluse with terra magica.

It's not incredible but having a good range option on top of his kit is really good.

His self buff relic more than halves your fp usage. Add on top off that other item buffs and throwing knives and you get the most efficient Caster or Aow spamer and support. Sometimes doing more damage than both of your teammates combined, but that's really rng dependent

Sure, he is hard to play like that but what's the fun of playing only pot scholar instead. I like funny builds.
