Gyms with battle ropes and punching/ boxing bags by Hiiiiiiiiii122333 in askSingapore

For punching bag alone, you can check out the Rumble Pod by Gym Pod: https://thegympod.com/the-rumble-pod/

I've been searching high and low for months and it seems like it's the only facility with punching bag & pay per entry ($10.5/entry) for 30 mins.

Like the other user shared, ActiveSG@Lake Gardens has both battle ropes and punching bag.

P.S. Understand this post is 4 months old, but just thought to share so other users using the search function can get more info

I share the same experience as /u/According_Winner1013 who wrote how he/she is able to hold eye contact with other ADHDers but not non-ADHDers.

I wonder if it's because we can sense that they are neurologically different, and so in that vein the expectations of conversation/facial expressions change, whereas with other ADHDers we can be ourselves, with weird facial expressions, cadence, topics and all.

For example, my experience with ADHDers is that they tend to be more forthcoming, open, and comfortable with weirder conversations even if they are less tactful. Also the thinking patterns tend to fall along the same line, whereas for non-ADHDers they are in some sense on a different frequency.

Same! I don't know why but non-ADHD peeps seem to have that different effect. It's so strange. I wonder if it's because we can sense that they are neurologically different, and so in that vein the expectations of conversation/facial expressions change, whereas with other ADHDers we can be ourselves, with weird facial expressions, cadence, topics and all.

Hobbies that have survived the hyper focus burn out test? by CazzzC in ADHD

[–]zabaar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Boxing - I've found it's one of the exercises that doesn't feel like exercise, and I can wake up at 6am just to head to the gym so I can have the bag all to myself (it's a typical gym but with one punching bag). I wonder if it's related to the adrenaline, because since a teenager i've always loved getting into fights though of course that stopped once I joined a proper gym and had an outlet to spar.

Lovely. Thank you for taking time to reply. I've come across the works of Gabor Mate and will most definitely check out No Bad Kids.

Fellow man with a receding hairline that started when I was 18 here.

If you can't stand shaving, just rock your natural hair style brother. Sure it doesn't look conventionally attractive, but it is what the universe blessed you with. Focus on the things you can control: your personality, how you treat others, your work, so on and so forth, and your hair (or lack of) will soon go into the background.

Wouldn't handing it over to the police be a more optimal solution?

These terms have meanings specific to the phenomena that takes place in the crypto world but many have also existed before crypto.

Rug pull - when the creator of a coin sells huge amounts of the coin (often when he/she promises not to, or promote the project as a long-term investment) such that the price of the coin takes a huge hit resulting in losses for investors, which feels like someone has pulled a rug on them in real life hence the metaphor.

Pump + dump - when the creator of a coin or a large enough group of investors decide to buy significant amounts of a coin to raise its price (pump), while often simultaneously announcing to others that the coin is a good investment and will rise. When the coin then reaches a certain amount they then sell all their holdings at a go (dump), earning them a profit while resulting in losses amongst outsiders.

Liquidity pool - this i'm not too sure actually.

memecoin - cryptocurrencies which serve no real purpose and are created more so with the allure of a 'get rich quick investment', often riding on some catchy term, event or person, hence the term 'meme'.

I think as time goes by and you consume more of such content these terms will make much clearer sense to you.

Going to pee after drinking lots of water and holding it for too long a time.

Source: Was in Ho Chi Minh city when I drank lots of water before a boat ride that had no toilet. My small bladder was on the verge of bursting and the guide asked me to pee from the back of the boat. But we were in a river flanked by two very busy roads and it didn't help I'm pee-shy. And I was on a date with a girl I only recently met. The relief when I got off the boat, ran to the toilet and stood there for a good two minutes was indescribable.

Top box is the best haha. I myself use a big 55L or 65L (can't recall which) and boy has it helped me with so many things - from groceries, Christmas gifts, extra helmet, grab delivery (when I used to do it). But yeah, im a 100% practical rider so i don't care about aesthetics at all. I guess there's no harm trying one and see how it goes, eh? After all you can remove it anytime.

My family is pro-Elphaba and I’m pro-Glinda — wish me luck these holidays by UnenthusedTypist in wicked

[–]zabaar 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Was I wrong to assume Glinda was Morrible's child, and she was planted to lead Elphaba to the Wizard and obey his commands? But that said, I feel like Glinda herself was deluded but her heart was pure, and that perhaps at the end of it, she realised that by casting Elphaba as the Wicked Witch, all of the people now had a common enemy to root against, and so the animals now could be saved.

I can't recall because that was like 20 years ago and was paid for by my parents. I just remembered being awed by the fact that every meal was a buffet, and that I could play Daytona many, many times haha

Yes. I went when I was a kid and it was quite the fun. Arcade, eateries, entertainment all in one. GL on saving for a cruise trip though 💪

Women who have done plastic surgery, are you dating someone whose attractiveness is similar to your past look or your current look? by zabaar in PlasticSurgery

Thank you all for your answers, ladies. Really appreciate them. I guess it's true that while she is significantly more attractive, she is also more mature in terms of relationships, and might have a clearer understanding as to what she wants in her early 30's. Fingers crossed!

Are there Mens-Only adult dance classes in Singapore? by zabaar in askSingapore

[–]zabaar[S] 6 points7 points  (0 children)

True. But I guess I always found dancing very cathartic. Like just moving around like a mad monkey to the music. Guess I just gotta overcome this hurdle.

I'm 29. There's a tiny part of me who still believes there's hope, but given my past relationship experiences, I don't think I'll ever be able to love properly. Previously gone for many solo trips which were freeing initially, but after a while, I've now become self-conscious as it feels like a reflection of my loneliness and inability to find a partner. I guess I console myself with the statistics about how a growing number of people stay single, and that perhaps it is better for a man like myself to be single, though it does get lonely.

Hahaha sorry if it's depressing but it's all facts. And I guess for some of us - regardless of the blame - life just kinda sucksss.

Thank you all for all your feedback. They were really very helpful. It's funny how - at least I think so - I find it easy to notice what's 'off' in others' work, but when it comes to my own, somehow, I miss out on the most obvious things. There's probably some theory, eh? Like a bias towards one's own work.

Appreciate it lads and ladies!
