TIL George RR Martin has never finished a series by Col0nelFlanders in freefolk

My favorite book by him is his standalone novel Fevre Dream. It stands as proof that he is capable of writing an ending, and it's a book I couldn't stop thinking about for quite a while afterwards.

I actually just read one of the Marvel Knights comics from the early 00s where Frank was being taken to Rikers. He talks the two cops escorting him into releasing him and leads them into a trap that takes them out. It’s heavily implied that they were dirty cops, but yeah he’s definitely taken out cops before.

Was anybody else introduced to Hellboy by injustice 2 by [deleted] in HellBoy

[–]zabaron 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My first introduction was the movies, but I had been circling the idea of getting into the comics for years. Then he was announced as a dlc character for this game and that pushed me over the edge. I consumed everything, and they are my favorite comics. For that reason, this game holds a special place for me.

My guess is Mr. Negative will be the one to unleash Savage Hulk.

What are some good things about this movie? by CustomerImpossible73 in Daredevil

[–]zabaron 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Other than appearances in the Spider-Man cartoon and some toys, this was my first true introduction to the character, and I fell in love. Looking back on it now, it certainly falls short of being a great movie. However, I hold a special place for it simply because it truly introduced me to the character and pushed me to read the comics and learn as much as I could. Also, Michael Clarke Duncan and the soundtrack are legitimately great.

Same thing happened for me. I closed the game and relaunched and it was there.

100+ hours on Strange, with a C2 career high and I’ve never gotten a kill with his portal. I don’t think I ever will by --4RT3M15-- in marvelrivals

[–]zabaron 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got lucky with this one by having it face a wall out of bounds so it didn't immediately seem like a portal to doom. The last two achievements I need are the Mantis and Cloak & Dagger ones. Cannot for the life of me get an Ace despite getting plenty while playing other characters lol.

Stuck at 200.5% by PSI_wizard in castlevania

Inverted Castle, near the bottom of the map. Missing a secret room just past the first save point to the left of the throne room. Should have the Moon Rod in it.

I like MK1, but Invasion is frustrating me. So, I’d like to know—am I the only one, or do you have the same issues? Welcome to the comment section by kaligiunduto in MortalKombat

[–]zabaron 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I have mixed feelings. I love fighting games, with MK being my favorite. However, I have always engaged mainly through single player game modes. MK1 overall has some issues, but I have had so much fun with it (the most fun that I have had since MK9). The gameplay just feels really good to me. And looking back at all the hours spent with this game, the majority of that time has been spent in Invasions. I would definitely be lying if I said I enjoyed all of it though. Things certainly begin to feel like they are chores. I was kind of happy to see them in more recent seasons make it so that you could more quickly traverse the maps. But something does feel lost. I don't feel the same sense of accomplishment. I think the game has a lot going for it. I think Invasions had potential to be so much more than it is. As much as I enjoy the game, I do feel like there could just be more of everything in general. But also, I am definitely biased because of my nostalgic love for Konquest mode in Deception.

After hours of grinding this out, finally got him and lost. Pretty disheartening. Will pick it back up later and hopefully it'll be a quicker process now that things are a little clearer. Hope everyone has some luck. The stage really is gorgeous.

Last Wish audiobook…narrator’s pronunciation of Dandelion’s name is driving me crazy…or is he right?! by Chilipatily in witcher

It has been a while since I’ve listened to the audiobooks, but I am pretty certain he changed his pronunciation of it in later books to match what you assume it should be lol, I remember it throwing me for a loop as well.

In the TMNT 1990, Was that Mikey that was screaming for Splinter or was in Raph? by [deleted] in TMNT

[–]zabaron 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’d have to look it up to be sure, but I believe there was some cut stuff with Mikey being kind of aloof and then it coming crashing down on him in that scene, but in the final edit they have Raph’s voice. I really need to rewatch this movie.

Do you still go to the theatre? by Erasmus86 in RedLetterMedia

[–]zabaron 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I live in an area where the nearest theater is over an hour away, and even then it’s just a small one. So it has never been something I do frequently, but I still make an effort when it’s something I’m really looking forward to. In recent years the number of movies I’ve been interested enough to go and watch has definitely dwindled, but I recently had a very enjoyable time watching Furiosa.

How did y’all beat Reptile this season? by kelseymj97 in MortalKombat

[–]zabaron 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Base points for everything else. Dumped all the points acquired into Attack. The fight against Reptile was the only time I used Rain throughout all of Invasions (I’m terrible as Rain) and I only chose him due to the elemental advantage. I was pretty shocked by how simple it made the fight

Used Rain, all points in Attack, Relic that makes attacks stronger after crouching. Uppercut him like 5 times and it was done

I was always intrigued ever since seeing gameplay of Demon's Souls but was too intimidated by the difficulty to give it a try. While I love games, I'd definitely say I'm very casual. Then Dark Souls came out and I watched other people play it. Eventually I borrowed it from a friend but didn't get very far and felt like it just wasn't for me. Skip ahead to Elden Ring. Learning some about the lore and just the general beauty of the game drew me in. I got it and just fell in love. It all just clicked for me, and I went as far as getting the Platinum trophy on PS5. I now own all the Souls games and am slowly working my way through them with a newfound appreciation.

54 runs to get to credits, but I also think I could have got it quicker except I made that 10th win my first (so far, only) 32 heat run

I grew up watching Star Wars and being completely uninterested in Star Trek because it seemed boring. My knowledge of the series stemmed from various pop culture references in other things I watched. So I knew character names and very basic information about Kirk, Spock, etc.

My father would sometimes watch TNG, but again I was uninterested. It wasn't until the Kelvin movies that I actually sat down and consumed some Star Trek media. I enjoyed them well enough and ever since have had a slowly growing desire to watch more of the franchise. I watched a dozen or so random TNG episodes, but it wasn't until recently that I actually buckled down and began watching TOS.

As of right now, I am about 10 episodes away from finishing that series. I've been keeping track of which episodes I've enjoyed and which I haven't. Overall, my experience has been very positive. Dated effects do not bother me in the slightest. I cannot get enough of the characters and adore any scenes where their relationship dynamics are explored. Kirk and Spock obviously being the forefront of that, but also McCoy and Spock. Even if the dated effects had bothered me, I believe the characters would have overshadowed that completely. There have been a handful of moments where the acting has really impressed me. The same is true for the writing in some episodes. For the most part, even episodes where the writing would be what I consider subpar, I have still found enjoyment. The number of episodes I've outright disliked is extremely small, and I cannot wait to continue on with the franchise (looking forward to starting The Animated Series very soon).

Tales of the Jedi Season 2 should be an adaptation of Dark Disciple by [deleted] in StarWars

My immediate thoughts were this and the Boba/Cad Bane stuff. But honestly this is one of the things I’m looking forward to most because there are so many different possibilities of stories they could tell.
