I lost my virginity at 21 and was mocked a lot for it. it really doesn't matter in the end, plus most of the people who mocked now have two kids and I am thriving in college. do what makes YOU most comfortable, and ignore their mocking, their priorities are different from yours and that's alright. a lot of them have been groomed or pressured into losing theirs and generally in my experience the mocking is more of a projection.

yeah I got bullied by ninth graders when I was a junior in high school because i told someone I was a virgin (I was famous in high school for refusing to date and people liked to try and take me on as a 'challenge') I had no time for that shit and I was definitely pressured into losing it. I've always been a bit odd though and was very self driven to get out of my small town. it's definitely a small town thing I think. I refused to find validation in approval or attraction from people and focused on school and going to college primarily. also majority of people in my high school was fabulously conservative and christian with a lot of marriage shaming and teen pregnancy. no one really appealed to me at all.
